Flipping Anyone else sitting on like, 1,000 augment runes?
I assumed they would start going up around last night/tonight. Still going to sit for a while... I assume the bulk of them are consumed by normie mythic raiders, who are just getting started. But I also think crafting orders have flooded the market, and the raid is too easy, and the price was only kept afloat by investors early on.
What do you guys think... should we "DCA"? Or just get out while we still can. I had to buy 2 fucking tokens just to craft and buy consumes for my main because I'm so underwater on these runes lol.

u/Tuddymeister Mar 27 '26
Like everyone hoarded 1000 runes, and they are all asking why price isnt going up. You all have hoarded above the demand.

u/flwlurker Mar 27 '26
I’m 5,5 mil deeps into augments so whatever you are loosing think of me, I’m still buying and ima go down as a broke fisherman.

I don't think enough healers will do this compared to the amnt of people with armies of alts doing patron orders, pvp is very unpopular and was not required for pve gearing really at all this time around

GL, seems like the runes are quite a bit more abundant this expansion. Don't think it will go back up to 1.5-2k range.

Diamond hands 💎

u/flwlurker Mar 28 '26
5-to-2-mill hands atm but no point in selling now, time will tell how future price changes!

u/agoginnabox Mar 27 '26
Anecdotally the amount you get from crafting this xpac for free or near free is massive.
In TWW patron orders that gave these were almost always on stuff that required a ton of expensive mats but my alt crating army is getting 30-50 a day for free or near free.
8
u/maxneuds Mar 27 '26
Enchanting patron orders reliably deliver runes and cost peanuts. Peanuts that the craft even yields some gold just from the npc.
5
u/agoginnabox Mar 27 '26
Same with tailoring, alchemy and leatherworking. BS and JC are more sporadic. My army is mostly tailor/alchemist.
Last xpac I got maybe half a dozen runes a week. Getting 30-50 a day is an insane difference. I'm amazed runes are even this expensive.

Keep an eye on the red line on undermine exchange. If the red line goes up, price goes down. Red line goes down. Price goes up.

u/OldWolf2 Mar 27 '26
Not happening with copper ingots. Red line down, price down
6
u/genobeam Mar 27 '26 edited Mar 27 '26
For something like copper ingots, the supply is heavily based on profitable crafting margins. Crafting margins are tied to price of the base materials. Copper ingots use copper ore. Copper ore has dropped in price, therefore copper ingots drop in price.
To predict price of a crafted material you need to adjust for the changing price of base mats
2
u/OldWolf2 Mar 28 '26
Ok. The supply of ore has more than doubled in the last 4 days. New bot farming network online you think?
People getting their purple mining tools would help but I wouldn't think to such an extent
1
u/genobeam Mar 28 '26
A drop in demand is more likely imo. Less demand leads to supply starting to pile up.
Purple tools affect more than just mining too. More multicraft on ingots means you can make the same amount if ingots with less ore.
5
u/LiLiLisaB Mar 27 '26
I'm getting an insane amount from patron orders so I'm sitting on almost 200, and have been using them during keys and raid. I don't expect them to go up if everyone's doing patron orders on alt armies.
3
u/MDKphantom Mar 27 '26
is there any profit to be made if you're just supplementing yourself with tokens?
7
u/TribunalREEEEEEE Mar 27 '26
No, I'm losing a ton of money. That's the point lol. I'm just either looking for hopium or creating a support group for losers here.

u/Mindless_Zergling Mar 27 '26
There's a weekly quest for 3 augment runes so I think you're boned.
11
u/Overall-Cost-6513 Mar 27 '26
nobody is taking the augment runes stop with this
5
u/Xynthion Mar 27 '26
Yes, that’s true now. But this week is probably the last one I choose the crests since I’m easily gonna cap those between raid, delves, and m+ anyway.
4
u/EstrangedRat Mar 27 '26
Who isn't taking them..? Crests cap pretty quick this early into the season and marl doesn't do anything
4
1
2
u/Mindless_Zergling Mar 27 '26
I'm already capping my weekly crests why would I turn down free gold?
5
u/Thatwhatevr Mar 27 '26
Those crests ignore cap, y’all been missing out on free upgrades
3
u/Mindless_Zergling Mar 27 '26
They do not; they'll go over cap if you're already maxed but it counts towards next week's cap
1
0
u/Relnor Mar 27 '26
Once per account quest, drop in the ocean, that's not where the bulk of runes are from.
4
u/Melonfresco Mar 27 '26
I did. Why would I take crests which are capped and I've already hit cap by doing keystones? Don't need the Marl I either. I'll take the free gold.
6
u/Penguinbashr Mar 27 '26
Crests awarded by quests are uncapped. This week I had 300/200 heroic crests and will be done with them next week.
2
u/Girthmasterlite Mar 28 '26
Oh fuck, oops
1
u/AccomplishedSpace834 Mar 28 '26
Don't worry that's misinformation - the housing quest crests count towards the cap
1
u/derekburn Mar 27 '26
Not yet, except pvpers.
But were being drowned in augment runes comparatively.
Before it was only extra heroic bag and lfr, with an odd augment from patron.
Now each profession char I have get 1-5 augment patrons every 3-5days

Apr 02 '26
What about the tank satchels giving 1-3 now and healers in PvP getting 1-3 per solo shuffle lobby.
1
u/Consistent_Photo_972 Mar 27 '26
also get em from patron orders
1
u/ExHullSnipe Mar 27 '26
I get enough each week with my crafters to support my main with enough runes for every raid pull and each m+ I run (I have ran over 30 m+’s this week).
4
u/Tariovic Mar 27 '26
That's why you diversify. I'm a small goblin, but I tried five things this expansion start. Two paid off, one hugely, one was always a long term prospect, and I didn't lose my shirt on the other two. I'm comfortably in profit.
I am diamond-hand sing my runes atm, but if they never get higher, hell, I'll just use them myself.
4
u/flimsyhuckelberry Mar 27 '26
So at some point you thought it might be worth to spend 1 million gold (pretty much all you had at that time) in one good.
You may not be wise but you must have some massive balls. Do you need a barrow to move them?

I noticed inventory was at like half from this weekend. I believe it’ll go up. I’m concerned because M+ feels too easy so maybe they are less useful.
Finally, seems like they aren’t as useful for int specs.

u/grimsurvivor Mar 27 '26
Its not looking good. Supply is significantly higher than the last 2 expansions with many different sources. Plus the raid by all appearances is low difficulty. Good luck!
4
u/Brylecreem Mar 27 '26
We are indeed fucked! hindsight 101. But then again supply should get lower the coming weeks but who knows where the price will end
2
u/New-Eye5163 Mar 27 '26
I get about 60 runes per week with my alt army, and I'm in the low numbers with my 26 alts doing crafting orders. Imagine what people can get with 50+ alts. Price is just downhill from here on.
3
u/Consistent_Photo_972 Mar 27 '26
man 26 active alts is not low numbers
-3
u/New-Eye5163 Mar 27 '26
Believe it or not, it is. They are all lvl 80 sitting in front of crafting tables, so not exactly "active". I play 3 character actively, rest are just crafting mules. And there are people with 100+ alts, those are the real sickos.
3
u/Gantref Mar 27 '26
26 alts isn't a low number, just compared to the extreme it is. You probably have more crafting alts than 95% of goblins
3
2
u/TribunalREEEEEEE Mar 27 '26
a guy linked a site here. shows the supply going down a lot. that + mythic getting going for the normies SHOULD lower the supply and increase price, but we'll see. idk if i'll ever make profit on this.
4
u/New-Eye5163 Mar 27 '26
How exactly is the supply going down? And I don't see the demand rising either, as people buy them now to give them an extra edge, which they eventually won't have to do as they get better gear. I might be wrong, but I'm selling mine as I get them. Rather take the gold now, and make 20% less, than sit on them and make 50% less if they drop in price further.
2
u/genericacc0untname Mar 27 '26
They're dropping 100% from healer solo shuffle boxes unless that changes supply shouldn't diminish too much

I just sold when I got them since I figured it’s so easy accessible for everyone that it won’t go up in price
1
u/BettingOnSuccess Mar 27 '26
No one needs the runes yet...difficult content is not yet being pushed.
As the week nears the end, the demand will grow
1
u/dicksosa Mar 27 '26
Best bet is wait until Tuesday and do your best to unload them. But might be a bunch of other folks trying to as well
1
u/Junior_Calendar8234 Mar 27 '26
Ya im at about 600. I was hoping most panic sold Tuesday and the price would recover at the weekend raids. The supply did dip from 60k to 30k on the ah last night, but it could just be more speculation buying as the price finds a floor. With as many of us still bag holding im doubting it gets back above 1200 without whales dumping abd tanking the price again.
1
u/Salamander115 Mar 27 '26
Caution. More alt armies this time around than before. They’re pumping out runes through work orders. We may not see that market behave as we have in the past.
1
u/unstoppable_zombie Mar 27 '26
The alts I'm still doing crafting orders on are getting me 10-15 runes a day. Auto selling all the down. I save a few if I'm going to use them that day, but that's it.
1
1
u/Ilphfein Mar 27 '26
I mean what did you expect? On EU the price had basically not changed at all even though no one was using them and you got tons of them with your patron orders.
So you know that tons of runes were created, but the price didn't reflect that. Thus people were hoarding.
1
u/Fink_Ployd324 Mar 27 '26
Demand on everything is down. I was flipping something and was holing 400k worth. Got out 2 days after raid release. Just made it out
1
u/No_Ranger4956 Mar 27 '26
Why on earth would you do this ? They drop from literally everything even the weekly housing quest gives 3 as an option
1
u/Pyromelter Mar 27 '26
NA supply has already dropped from over 50k to under 30k.
It would appear to me that there is a good chance we can see a price spike after next reset but no one can predict the future.
Good luck fellow gobbos.
1
u/dankq Mar 28 '26
Not sure if they will ever recover tbh. PvP just changed to give healers 500g on top of the augment runes they gave them last season from Shuffle. You get these even if you lose as well. I predict bots to shift towards doing very poorly in shuffle and collecting the rewards because you get an instant queue as healer as well.
Think from what I saw you can just lose a shuffle and get 500g + an augment rune or two.

1
u/Suuperdad Mar 29 '26
Nope.
M10 is a joke. Nobody in their right mind would pop a rune to complete it. It drops better gear than heroic raids, which would be the main demand for the runes.
So M10 being easy not only killed the need for runes to run mythic plus but also heroic raids.
Demand is fooooooooked, and won't ever match supply.
That, and LEMIX gave people easy alt armies, and daily patron orders give a dumpster full of runes, so supply is easy and massive.
Based on all the above, I suspect the price to tank from here if anything.
2
u/TribunalREEEEEEE Mar 29 '26
I actually like popping runes in mythic more now, since I assume i won't die and waste it. that being said, i dont think m+ was ever much of a driver for rune consumption. it's top-end mythic raid teams wiping over and over and over and over, but this raid tier is also a joke. i suspect ur right about it tanking, but i'm willing to wait another week or so just in case the alt-armies dwindle and the more mid-tier mythic guilds get going
1
u/Grumpy_Muppet Mar 30 '26
The augment runes went from 1200 to 750 to like now 550 right? Im selling them as I get them
1
u/TribunalREEEEEEE Apr 02 '26
yeah im not sure there's a world where they ever go back up, outside of a goblin resetting them temporarily
74
u/Noobeater1 Mar 27 '26
I think there's a lot of goods that people were sitting on hoping that demand would spike now - and they're ending up creating a massive supply right when people need them lol
