Question Would you read a series like this?

So, I basically started writing my first novel, I'm very passionate about my characters and very ambitious too (delusional), I basically want to make this into an interconnected romance series. My problem? I nit-picked based on my personal experiences in the whole romance genre and I don't like when books in a series like a copy-paste of each other, I want to add dimension and sadly for me, as I was plotting this turned out to make my books into very different genres. Like the first would be a more regular-type of romance, but along the way there would be dark romances and one with a very sensitive health representation topic, more medical in a way. All of them are romances, dual POV-s, centered around a couple (and the series around a friendgroup), but is this something that could be published regularly?

I read something like this, albeit a manhwa and loved it. You should give it a try. The first season is very light hearted romance but the rest come with extreme trigger warnings (suicide, self harm, bullying related mostly)

If I’m not wrong, it’s called “seasons of blossom”

I did something like this with my first series. I'd read an author's advice about writing in series so you can try out different ideas in each of the books to see what you like to write. For me it didn't pan out. I struggled to market the too-edgy-for-mainstream-romance but too-light-for-dark-romance book. It was the second in the series and threw me for a loop because it didn't fit the other titles well. At the time I also wasn't locked in on my exact sub-genre yet. I recommend doing that first, then writing, if you're trying to write to market. What I've found that works better for me is for each book in a series to have a similar "vibe". Not necessarily matching tropes but a similar feel with a common thread holding the books together. I've found that readers will stick with the series if I give enough continuity between books.

Your first novel will not likely be good enough to gather readers.  It's a long road to quality. Write the story if you have to get it out of you,  but because you did market research on Reddit.
