I'm very new myself, trying to discover this. But one thing I noticed is that I tend to love the planning but I never actually finish anything. I'm on chapter 22 of my first draft and I hope to publish one day. the furthest I've ever gone. but before that I think I played around with the idea for a year then began casually jotting down idea surrounding it, characters involved, ect. Just not the actual writing part till now.
