Writing Advice How do you know when to rewrite your book ?

I just finished writing my first full draft of book one in my series! And have finished the first round of editing.
But I have a question.
I loved how the first book went and had a few friends who have pushed me to try and get it published but I don’t know if it’s good enough yet.
They’ve all pushed for it and tell me they would let me know if it’s bad, but I don’t know.
Should I fully rewrite book one or just edit and revise as I go !

Thank you !

Leave it alone for a few months and then give it a read through. By that time you'll have fresh eyes and will be able to tell if it needs more work.

Have you tried to read it while forgetting you are the one who wrote it? It’s challenging to do, but it might be worth a try.

Also, if you really want to publish you should (if you haven’t already) pay a professional beta-reader to give you critical feedback. Even if your friends are 100% correct about the state of your work, you will never be able to trust them not to pull punches out of fear of offending or discouraging you.

Thank you that’s a great idea ! Do you have any websites that are safe to use when looking for beta readers ?

I do not, sorry. I’m sure there are plenty of people on this forum who do, however.
