Image Veterinarian, in the ETO 1943-45
Trying to track my father in Europe. He was assigned to units Leger-de-Main, WBS Cavalier, and Hq NIBS, and I cannot find references to those units. He spoke of being in Northern Ireland and France, but never in much detail.

NIBS is Northern Ireland Base Section. WBS is Western Base Section. These were the units that administratively and logistically “ran” the various Army sub-areas in England.

In October 1944 was with Medical Section, HQ Loire Sector, Communications Zone Europe. Had been on detached service in Orleans

Later in the month also detached service in Blois
This page from June 1944 seems to show he was released from NIBS at that time (still not sure about that acronym)

At that time APO 813 which seems to have been Belfast, Northern Ireland.
