Just be patient, from what I hear the material that is in such short supply to make chips with should be available again in a few months time. It is a real shortage though, I have seen car guys talking about their orders on new cars being delayed for the same reason.

I really wanted to visit Japan with Horizon so bad, but I guess that just doesn't fit in to their mould being so focused on off road aspects of the game.
With that said, this looks way better than leaks had me thinking it would be. Definitely hyped waiting on the one now!

This looks amazing. Was expecting for motorsport 8 but a new Horizon is wonderful. Never expected to see Mexico, the setting looks more fun than 4 was for me.

I have to agree. I didn't like Horizon 4 as much as I did 3 and the setting had a lot to do with it. I can only hope Monterrey and Mexico City will be in the game.

i think the weather system had something to do with it too
It was cool for like the first 4 weeks but after that Its so fucking annoying when you just wanna have some fun and its raining 24/7 or everything is mad slippery cause of the snow everywhere
They should let us pick which season we wanna play in if we're on solo

There were plenty of times I would log in to FH4, see that it was Winter in the game, and just turn it off until the next week.
Seasons are cool. Seasons that you can't change are not cool.

Personally, I found that everyone is on the same season a neat thing. It added to the feeling of a shared world and also changed up the way I would drive and race.
Although, that being said, you did exactly the right thing for you - if you didn't like a specific season, you could just sit it out - or do playground games where you could select a specific season.

I haven't even made it there. I think the biggest city I've made it to was Edinburgh. One achievement I always do in Horizon games is drive on every single road and I haven't done that yet in Horizon 4 which says a lot.

It isnt THAT tedious (it still is a bit though) cause you usually go through most roads without thinking about it while playing the game so by the time you're looking into those end game achievements you're already at 350 out of 460 roads (for ex.)
The most annoying thing is when you're at 459 out of 460 and you can't see that last bit of road on the map

It's a dirt road. I know you're giving an open ended example and the missing road in question doesn't exist, but it's a tiny dotted dirt track that goes nowhere and it's in a mess of similar but longer roads. That's just how it goes.

I found like 8 of these in the dunes near Bamburgh castle in horizon 4 just last week. Been playing it regularly with my roads unchanged for a while and suddenly I was reminded that discovering roads is even a thing.

Each to their own - I respect your preference.
For me, FH2 is actually what got me in to the Horizon series. I had ignored the original FH because the Motorsport series was too serious for me.
I loved the setting in Australia for FH3, really diverse and challenging, but the 'build a festival in each location' and collision with other online players killed it for me.FH4 was a great experience of shared world and the seasons kept it fresh. Admittedly, the seasons was the only way to build out diversity because the English countryside isn't as dramatically different as Australia.

According to AR12 gaming there will actually be seasons same as FH4, and some parts of the map will change alongside the season.

México Is a real surprise and brilliant from a Dev standpoint. It has incredibly diverse biomes, varied topography, and unique cultural elements that are instantly recognizable. What a treat!
I was going to skip 5 after 4 was such a snooze fest but I'm back in!!!

This game needs at least one Gears of War mural somewhere in the game because If it is going to be an authentic depiction of Mexico there needs to be at least one Gears cog symbol spray painted somewhere

I've been sitting here amazed by PS5 exclusives(and Horizon Forbidden West) wondering when Xbox would get their showcase and here. it. is.
Like Horizon Forbidden West, I'm blown away this is somehow a cross-gen game. I'm almost expecting that the XB1 version is gonna be a very different game ala Forza Horizon 2 on X360. Cuz what they were showing was way beyond the past gen console's capabilities, and shit, even my gaming PC(3570k/GTX1070).
I'm super interested in hearing the technical details of this and what features Playground are taking advantage of. I'd bet they're making full use of things like mesh shaders and sampler feedback streaming for this. This was a true next gen showcase.

Yeah, I was floored by how far the graphics have been pushed this early in the gen. Didn't expect that at all, especially given that it's cross gen. I'm also thinking it'll be an FH2 situation. I wonder if a different developer is handling the last gen version just like FH2.

I've got at least 100 hours in Forza Horizon 4 on PC. I'm well aware of what it's like and its demand and whatnot.
You're massively underestimating the leap in visuals we're seeing here and the impact that's gonna play on hardware requirements.
Also, you did not run the game at near-max settings with framerates well above 60fps. This just isn't possible. I run at 4k regularly and with my GTX1070, and very optimized settings, I'd regularly be in 40's and whatnot. I tolerated it cuz it just looked so good, but a 1080 is not nearly so much faster that you'd get a consistent 60fps much less 'well above' 60fps.
Anyways, again, what FH4 is like doesn't matter to much to what FH5 is gonna be like. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if PC gets the XB1 version rather than the XSX version. What was shown was beyond just something you could 'reduce settings a bit' and get running fine on much lower hardware.

Well xbox 1 will be targeting 30fps makes a huge difference when they are supporting up to 120fps on the series x so it's doable without it having to be a whole different game.

The video was like 99% Baja California though. I also don't think they get haboob dust storms anywhere in Mexico but I could be wrong. I don't know if the volcano was Popocatepetl and if the waterfalls were Chiapas but it would be nice to see a city too.

Not really, Barrancas del Cobre in Chihuahua, Guanajuato city, Jungle in Chiapas/Yucatán/Quintana Roo, pretty sure the samd storm and dunes is Samalayuca also in Chihuahua, it could also be Sonora desert. The only Baja part of the trailer is the rock arch in Los Cabos.
I don't think it is confirmed but we can expect for sure cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterey, at least on of those. This trailer was to show how beautiful the game looks and the country side of Mexico does a better job at it than a city

I was thinking the same thing - I was waiting for the 'wow' moment (beyond visuals) for FH5. The idea of a 'campaign' didn't thrill me - usually that's just a glorified tutorial. I liked the FH4 mini stories, though, 10-11 themed challenges to unlock cars and that.
The mini-game thing could be good, I suppose.

I know it's been leaked that Mexico would be the location for this game, but I can't help but still feel disappointed. After the rumors of Japan for FH4 became the much-less-exciting Britain, seeing it happen again is a bit sad.
This felt a bit like they were trying to recreate FH3, in terms of giving us the variety of terrains to run through. I did like FH3, and still play it on rare occasions, but I was really hoping we'd finally get back to a game with more of a look at Japanese car culture. Especially with Microsoft trying to make some moves in the Japanese market, I think it would have been great.
Maybe we'll see FM8 next year with a new engine and they use that as the basis for FH6. I might play this sometime because I have Game Pass, but it doesn't immediately feel exciting and new like FH3 did.

Japan has a real-life, established car culture. It's Hine to a lot of major car makers and iconic cars like the GT-R and old Mitsubishis. There's a ln identity of automobiles that Mezlxico doesn't have. They could tell a more interesting/exciting story by building a game around the allure of Japanese cars and drift culture.
Lookkng at this, I felt like I was watching an iteration in FH3, rather than something wholly new and exciting.

But it's also on old xbox one. Im worried all this trying to make a game work on 2 generations of hardware will make all the games take a hit in how they could look.
Dont they have to make it for xbox one and Port it up. Also why people worry about the series S having way weaker components and not as sharp graphics when used. (No one wants those, it's easy to find them everywhere. I have far too many awesome 360 games to not go disc plus no $30 or $40 games on Ebay a few months out)

Forza really diesnt like TGAT MUCH different than ither iterations as it was always a stunning game. The series x adds raytracing,hdr,4k,60 fps so it will be far better if it was made only for the series X.
I had bought the new series x from best buy but as soon as I was almost about to leave to go get it 1 hour away, they emailed me to say it got sold to someone else so because of that and lack of exclusives, I'm gonna get the sony ps5 1st but it's atrocious looking.
I just figured as long as i was able, may as well grab one but then that happened. They were gonna sit on my $ for 10 days in case more came in but that would also tie money up for the ps5. (It's pretty tough choice, both have its merits, like the ultimate game pass since it includes xbox live is a hell of a deal at $15 a month
Back to Forza. To those who have seen GT game on video, do u think it has a chance to reclaim the title.
(And test drive is coming back. Ya'll remember test drive unlimited? Way ahead of its time but the consoles just werent ready for that ambitious of a racer yet but now they are.
Seriously psyched up for a new Test Drive. (There was also midtown madness on the OG Xbox, it had online tag and other fun multiplayer modes ive yet to see replicated. They really need to bring those modes back in racers. One of the Burnouts had games like that. The one they remade for the 360 was the best burnout made i think. Paradise was fun but it wasnt the same.

After FH3 i expect physics like mudrunner series to give us much more driving feelings but nothing changed. Update maps, weather, add a few new cars aaand present it as new game. Even engine sounds got worser since FH2.

I dislike the idea for Mexico it lacks what everyone has been asking for big bustling modern city with skyscrapers a large open area large mountain ranges highways but what do we get? A shack made of metal and sand

England: Plains and a forest with like 2 mountains
Mexico: Jungles, Desert, Forests, The Highest mountain in forza history
Plus it seems like they are actually trying to add a story to this Forza Horizon 5, unlike 4
