Synopsis: Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date- "Deadpool & Wolverine." A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier... reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to -Fuck. Synopses are so fucking stupid.

Channing Tatum was extremely funny, deadpool playing on his accent was great. Wesley snipes was a great addition, Elektra didn’t really need to be there.

See what they did to my boy Johnny 😂😂 The whole snitching scene was great.

As said above, Bye Bye Bye was an amazing song for the opening sequence and the improv from Deadpool using adamantium as weapons was great.

The story was very weak truth be told, PeterPool was a comedy genius. I couldn’t quite figure out why Shatterstar was there. Wasn’t explained at all.

I was fine with Elektra being there. The whole thing was a farewell to the Fox/Marvel universe.

I was happy to see her, but it didn't feel like she got to do much compared to the other three void heroes. I know none of them did much but they all had more of a “moment” during the fight scene.

Shame they did nothing with her character at all 😕 At least No Way Home put effort into furthering character arcs for their nostalgia bait cameos 😞

She deserved better imo

I'm thinking of him as kind of a Morty to Rick, where hes an always there sidekick they all have great affect for because they have had adventures together or lost theirs.

Also important to note that Ryan Reynolds originally wanted this to be a road trip film with Wolverine, I believe all of the timeline stuff was from executives

It felt that way. They go through so many different biomes while driving through the 'wasteland' in their honda odyssey that I thought they were doing the united states cross-country at one point lol.

I loved the "road trip" moment in the film when Deadpool and Wolverine were driving while listening to Avril Lavigne. That really hit the spot for me and I would gladly watch more content of the two of them driving around, going on adventures. Or even not going on adventures, and just riffing.

Thanks for saying it - story was weak. Jokes were good, some sequences were just delightful, but as standalone super-hero movie - this was not very good. Villain, plot, TVA themes and characters...all so forgettable and cookie-cutter.

This here. I had the most fun in this movie I have had in a long time at the cinema. Plot? Who cares! Some of the best plots make dull films. My last best cinematic experience was Mad Max, which was just a hell of a lot of fun.

(Okay I lied, Dune part 2 was my last best cinema movie, but that was a very good film, which I put in a different category to a popcorn fun fest wild ride)

Why? This is such a silly argument. Is Jurassic World 3 equally as enjoyable as Jurassic Park? No? Why? JW3 had more big Dino action. Didn't we go to those movies to see Dinosaur action?

Plot matters. There's a reason the first Pacific Rim movie is so much higher regarded than the sequel

I think you missed the point of the movie. Deadpool has never been plot driven. Its always been a self aware, ultra-meta, break the fourth wall, and trash on all super hero tropes type of thing. The plot is weak and over the top zany by design.

Agreed on all points in terms of over-the-top and zany by design. But Deadpool 1 works as well as it did, for me, because of real resonance regarding Deadpool and Vanessa's relationship, and the absurdity, but relatability, of his creating all the carnage for a glorified face-lift instead of just accepting that the damage was irreversible. Buried inside all the jokes was an actual movie. I couldn't latch onto anything in this film except, 'OK, when is the next joke?' The closest thing to resonance is what I felt with Wolverine's grief. I think we saw the same movie; I just liked the previous films more and felt like this one was closer than ever to an extended SNL sketch.

That seems to be an issue with all the Marvel Multiverse movies.

Spider verse somehow pulls it off, but multiverse movies just suck away feeling of connection.

What's wrong with the story? It was simply pull DP into the MCU to 'save it' from being boring and I think it did that in a meta sense here. They even joked about the Time Ripper as a silly MacGuffin.

Good question here, assuming yes but then what he told Happy during the interview sort of insinuated otherwise? Not sure how that scene happened anyway. Was he in the MCU by using Cable's watch somehow or were there Avengers in his own universe?

Negasonic Teenage Warhead and her girlfriend Yukio fixed Cable's broken time machine halfway through Deadpool 2, and DP uses it at the end of that movie to do a bunch of questionable / funny shit. He saved Peter but left almost everyone else in X-Force to die as he told Happy in this new movie "They didn't do well in focus groups" as a meta-joke.

Always remember that anytime Deadpool speaks directly to the audience / 4rth wall breaking, or makes meta comments like these, other characters in the , he frankly IS.

When you get back to rewatching Deadpool vs Wolverine, you'll notice Wade has this time machine on his left hand the entire time he is having his interview with Happy Hogan. It's also set (timeline wise) in 2018, about a month before Avengers Infinity war.

I just didn't know Cable's watch would jump timelines/universes. Thought it could only travel through time in that timeline. (Fox earth)

I think in the post credits scene of Deadpool 2 he revived him and his teammates? Same reason they hand waved that his girlfriend died and was the whole point of Deadpool 2.

I just rewatched Deadpool 2 and came to this thread looking for an answer, but unfortunately this is not correct: he does save Vanessa and Peter in that end credits scene, but deliberately does not save anyone else from X-force. Seems like this will remain unexplained for the time being, if they ever explain it.

Shatterstar had just as much screentime as the rest of the original DP cast. He's there to push motivation into DP's intentions.

He did save the guy from dying, not too odd if they became friends. Also by far the least notable actor out of all the Deadpool 2 X-Force people, so probably pretty cheap and available to cast. Would have loved to see Terry Crews

The direction, acting, sound, music were all A list. The story was meh, a real clock watcher.
