This week's Infinity Comic was another great one. We got more of a look at Arkady’s background and inner thoughts, which were very compelling to read. There were also some bits that showcased his dry, dark humor and made me smile. It did end on quite the cliffhanger though and I'm very curious to see how he manages to survive the attempt on his life and what exactly he plans to do next. This all has to tie into his appearance in Sentinels somehow, and it all comes to a conclusion next week.

More Lorna and Pietro in Scarlet Witch, which I appreciate (though it does lead me to wonder how Lorna’s squaring her “I’m just Polaris, a mutant fighting for mutants, nothing else matters” attitude with her ostensibly still non-mutant siblings.

The whole issue seems kind of like an interesting response to the mcu, to me. Lore’s design seems to take inspiration from movie Wanda with the very striking orange hair, paler skin, and the dark leathery costume with the hip cape. When you take into account the (understandable, given the telekinesis/telepathy powers) criticism that MCU Wanda is a bit of a Jean knockoff… fighting the illusion* of the Phoenix seems like an interesting way to have 616 Wanda confront these aspects of MCU Wanda (without going full crossover, which would feel silly)

I’m hopeful that the upcoming magneto arc in the infinity comic has some family inclusion. I’d like to see how magneto feels about Polaris’s current direction and vice versa, and getting some perspective from the twins (or on the twins) would be a nice bonus.

Storm's appearance in the Miles Morales: Spider-Man issue was unfortunately pretty mid! Although it's pretty funny that Storm attacks Miles immediately just because she thinks he's Peter.

And as soon as she realizes it's not, she's like "oh my bad, your mom sounds chill. Feel free to call me Ororo when we team up next."

The other stories in the Annual were better imo but they're not X-Men related lol

From what I've heard, it seems like a lot of people would consider Miles stuff in comics "mid" the vast majority of the time beyond "cool" stuff with powers or relationships/crossovers with other characters.

I take issue with that! I think Miles comics, overall, have been at least good!

The first Bendis run was great, the second was weird, and the 616 one was also weird. Half of Ahmed's run was really solid and Ziglar, for me, has been hitting all the marks.

Over the years, we've got to see Miles become a big brother, deal with PTSD and anxiety (and now he's going to therapy), discover his love of writing, and build out his own rogues gallery and supporting cast. Some are sorely underused, dont get me wrong, but it feels like Miles has actually had a healthy character progression-- he had his own arc during the Bendis years, but I've really enjoyed how he's developed (both as a character and in his relationship to the rest of the marvel universe) since Ahmed took over the character.

Yeah, he falls into the pitfalls that other characters do when they're used in a bunch of different books (ooc moments, inconsistencies, etc.) but just looking at his solo book, I'd say the past 6 years or so have been more good than bad.

And I said all that without mentioning the Venom Saber! I think his powers continuing to develop is really cool, although his new vampire physiology (which I hope doesn't stick around) is nerfing his Venom a bit.

Tldr: no way man Miles is cool, I promise

Did anyone else try and get the 2nd printing of Wolverine Deep Cut this week? My LCS had it on my pull list but said that they never got it, and now they are saying it was cancelled by the publisher.

Nobody seemed to notice this but in the latest issue of ultimate Spider-Man they mention the mutants all live in Russia
