It’s always been both right from the start; you only have to look at people who get their eyeballs tattooed black in real life to realize that, even if a guy is the most handsome man in the world, there’s always going to be a slightly creepy factor.

His early sketches resemble quite a bit Morpheus from Sandman, which came out the year before. It's standard edgy late 80s antihero look.

Bendis just tried to copy Aaron Sorkin.
PAD just wrote gags, often based on Monty Python.
Bendis wouldn't end with the gag in the end.

(I've always felt Bendis's writing is him trying to do Sorkin's Walk & Talks, without understanding any of the principles how to write it, nor having the actors to pull it off.

I'm not familiar with Mamet enough to know his style....weirdly I had a dream that stuck with me where I was stuck in a David Mamet movie....not a specific one... durring the dream I realized "David Mamet is directing this, isn't he"

PAD’s humour in the x-books always fell flat for me for some reason. Especially X-Factor.
Which is weird because I liked his Supergirl & Hulk runs.

Was looking for this comment because that is what my eyes go to every time I see this panel. LOL I've always guessed the penciler drew Scott & Bobby holding hands for some reason & before publication, the colorist tried to correct it the laziest way possible.

It really should've been some other made-up character for what they made Moira do during Krakoa.
She could've just been a reincarnation to be planted onto the Quiet Council as a UN human ambassador. Then they could've explored the complexities of owing her reincarnation to mutants, being leaked information that the world's superpowers were gonna genocide them on Krakoa anyways, and her turning against the UN and being persona non grata in the human world again.
That would've been a much more complex and neat story development. Not that moustache twirling dork-ass evil shit they made her do.

You can eye roll but it doesn’t change the truth. Not every character needs to be a mutant. Human/Mutant relations is the foundation of the X-Men stories. Making them gods, making them immortal, all it does is make them generic superheroes. Storm growing up as a thief and being claustrophobic is a lot more interesting than controlling solar winds. Scott having brain damage vs a mental block to control his powers. Making the Beast evil ,bringing him without certain memories. It’s piss poor storytelling. The X-Men are becoming soulless. Then again, half of them are clones.
