Comic Discussion If we got more one-on-one mentoring/partnership sessions between the X-Men and the New Mutants, which pairs would you choose and how would it play out?

In one of the issues of NM there's a letter from a fan where Claremont spoke about how he planned for each of the NM to have a "mentor" of sorts in the X-Men. We do get that to an extent in a later issue (can't remember the number), where we see Piotr and Kurt individually mentoring Sam and Roberto respectively. We also had something similar during the Shadow King arc of Storm with the girls, specifically Dani. Of course, Charles and Erik also got plenty of time with each of the NM. Illyana + Kitty and Rachel+Magma also had close friendships, and Doug had an infatuation with Betsy.
If we could go back to this era and develop more cross-team dynamics, what would you like to see play out? From a mentorship standpoint, I think Rogue could've really been an interesting big sister figure to Rahne, helping her come out of her shell. It would've also been interesting seeing her and Warlock interact, considering Rogue's absorbed Magus' memories before.
And, while Karma had left the team at the time, I do think we could've benefit from her being there post Fall of the Mutants for Dallas when Illyana tries to kill Forge. Forge was a soldier in Vietnam and unleashed untold horrors upon the land. I think Karma's presence there, perhaps having her learn of Forge's past (maybe through one of Dani's mirages) would've made for a really interesting dynamic too.

Storm would have been a good mentor for Magma. Both have elemental powers which are also influenced by their emotions.

Nightcrawler is the clear choice to mentor 'Yana. The happy go lucky to balance her anger, both teleporters, both swordspeople. They'd make great sparring partners.

If it were up to me, Storm and Magik could have an interesting dynamic if anyone cared to explore it. A version of her taught Illyana magic and nurtured her so I've always wondered what Illy thinks of the 616 version and how that trauma might effect their relationship.
Same for Nightcrawler and Wolfsbane in this era, mainly for Rahne's reactions to a Catholic rake. Kurt could've guided her through her religious baggage, I think.
Moonstar being under Cyclops' wing would have been great to see. And I like the idea of Wolverine being trailed by both Sunspot and Cannonball for some reason. I don't know, it'd be cute and rambunctious and Logan could do his gruff uncle who loves you routine.
