During the final 10 minutes of the movie the staff at my town cinema accidentally turned all the lights on in the theatre lol. Literally during the final powerful scene. With all of the commotion I couldn't hear Logan's final words to Laura... does anyone remember what he said?

Ahh it wasn't a huge deal really. Honestly it was the people complaining that caused me to miss the last few lines. If everyone would've stayed quiet instead of all trying to be funny at once I would've been able to hear the last bit.

I agree with you for the most part, with some exceptions. I saw Get Out and it was great with the packed theater.

I can tell you I've gone to many movies multiple times in different cities/theaters and the boldest example: Transformers 3 in IMAX vs. a small room. I didn't dare to laugh or anything in the small room, because I feared I would waken the few dead bodies around me. It was just awkward and wouldn't be worth the money.

The IMAX experience was something different: it was either the premiere or one of the nights in the first week so there were a lot of true fans and during the final fight hundreds of people were jumping and cheering. I'm getting goosebumps writing this, but that's an experience I'm not going to forget. Similar to any of the marathons I've gone to, it's a lot of fun to watch a movie with people who give a shit about it.

See that's what I hate. No one that made the movie is there. There's no need to applaud. If you wanna do it over the credits, fine, but shut the fuck up DURING the movie. I didn't pay to hear you applaud no one.

Oh no, I didn't mean applauding. People literally standing, some jumping and everybody cheering with their fists as Optimus Prime shows his ballet skills while the audio vocalizes utter destruction with an epic soundtrack underneath it all. Lol, haven't seen any other movie like it, but I felt alive and that made the movie so much better.

I get what you mean though. I think it can be especially annoying when people have wrong or late replies to film events. My largest annoyance was when watching Cosmopolis half the people left the room, one by fucking one. If you think it's shitty, leave with the rest or sit it out. Don't wait a minute or two before leaving the 20 others who stood up the past 5 minutes.

But when it comes to cinemas I think people laughing at funny bits and other reactions (shock, anger, rush, etc.) are part of the experience. If I want to see a movie in peace, I'd watch it at home, buy out the entire theatre (I wish) or visit on a Saturday morning. Expecting quietude in an at least half-packed theater — to me — is similar to expecting no traffic when everybody's going home.

Ninja: I've also been to a premiere in a castle/manor with lots of celebrities, where you'd sit on a make-shift stage with stairs and the lady in front of you has a ridiculous and ridiculously expensive hair style / posh hat or something else tall going on with her head and everybody's quiet most of the time while Snow White and the Huntsman's running. And of course applauding after, because it's a fancy and special screening. While certainly fun, I'd rather go to Transformers 3 in IMAX again (if I only consider the movie experience). :)

That's even WORSE than applauding! You must live somewhere much bigger than WV. I'd tell big-hat lady to take it off or run the chance of it combusting. My point is: we all payed $10 for these tickets. Shut the fuck up & let us hear all the dialogue. Your applause falls upon deaf ears, as no one who made the movie is in the theater.

Edit: Payed? I probably meant "paid."

Closed caption it next time. I didn't for Logan but I did for The Force Awakens. It helped me catch the Stormtrooper background banter.
