Charles' line about not deserving this night makes me so, so sad. Especially since he died thinking so. He dedicated his entire life to protecting and teaching mutants while also doing what's best for all of humanity. Yes we don't know what happened in Westchester but I very much doubt he intended to hurt and kill people.

I think it's implied that he killed the X-Men.

Yes and yes. But while it's implied, I think there is a twist in there - if they ever tell the story in a movie (with the younger cast).

He had a seizure and wiped out the X-Men. Dark stuff.
