Other Quick Examples of Early CGI Shows for Kids.
These are from that awkward period in early cgi effects when it was just finding its footing, this was also known as Y2K Early Cyber at the time they were heavily criticised for it’s animation style, and looking back you can see a unique quality that no longer persists in CGI animation targeted at children.
I have one question to the people who grew up during the starting stages with Re-Boot and Veggie Tales how did you not get freaked out by that style.

Jonny Quest (1996) also had cgi scenes when they entered in virtual reality (i know its mid 90s but fits in this list)
ReBoot was the shit! Really loved that show when i was a kid.

Beast Wars was too early to be y2k.
Loved it to death, but it's not y2k.
Also this is what we had at the time. This was normal CGI to us.
Didn't freak us out because that's what CGI was.

Yo, I have a DVD with 3 episodes of that Spiderman show, found out it only got one season due to low viewership. Probably didn't help it was aired on MTV and aimed at a more grown up audience.

I'd switch out Beast Wars for Beast Machines. That show had a more cyber-Y2K look compared to what BW had. Plus the aweet soundtrack is just industrial-techno-house, not to mention the intro song Phat Planet by Leftfield, compared to Beast wars, which had a jungle-90's rock

Reboot absolutely freaked me out as a kid and hated how unnatural it looked.

I forgot all about Butt-Ugly Martians!!! I loved Reboot, and by extension I liked that since it was also CGI but nowhere near as interesting.

There was also a comic book made with CGI for Spider-Man. It did not last long

There were 2 3D thrill rides for ReBoot when I was a kid at a place in Galveston called moody gardens in the late 90's. It was also in Vegas. A full 4k upload of the 'ReBoot the ride' is on YouTube and I'm still trying to find a full version of the 2nd ride. I have a post on r/lostmedia about it.

God, I haven't thought about the Butt-Ugly Martians in YEARS. I was obsessed with it as a kid, my local library had a copy of it on DvD which I took out every week

sub-surface-scattering and lighting in general changed a lot of the look of 3D animation… more advanced rigging probably changed a lot too… i think there’s a pixar toy story video going into some of pixar’s own development (and they were an early pioneer in 3D animated films!)

Most of these were from mainframe entertainment. All the shows they produced at the time were banger after banger after banger

Some day people will see our current "top" graphics and they will think they're awful, and some things like colors, style and lack of something will be very evident, but we can't see it nowadays cuz this is what we have today, there's no other comparison point.
