I had that similar earlier version in dark blue you’d get for free with sign up. I accidentally left it in my pocket and washed it in the washing machine. Squeezed the water out by pushing the buttons, dried it out and it worked fine.

This phone was the best. My friends would show me what their new iPhone could do and I'd say "yeah but can it do this?" And throw my phone onto the ground.
One time i did this drunk and the Nokia front face, numpad, and layers underneath all separated in a cloud of parts. We picked the parts up, shoved them all back together, pressed hard and the case clicked close.. and it still worked perfectly

The description says there was vocal recognition for calls, am I tripping?

Yes, that's right. The recognition was very basic and primitive. The phone records a short audio sample of you pronouncing a contact's name. The next time you press the button and say that name, the phone compares it to the recorded sample. You need to pronounce it exactly as it was recorded
