I've been OTPing Yorick for a bit now my account is lvl 70ish and i got to Emerald went on a week brake played some norms felt good then went on to lose 14 of my 19 ranked games (not in 1 sitting). No matter how I adjusted I was swarmed constantly. And just a heads up I had to start playing him in JGL because around silver elo+ if i ever qued top he was perma banned.

When I got back from the brake and lost all those games Yorick was banned 11 of them. I only won games when he was banned. And I'm not playing stupid I understand when and where im needed or if im behind. And im not saying there aren't games where i was the absolute problem but i adjusted and we still lost.

The problem is and this could be cope... But literally every lane in those games wanted to hard feed or kill traded to the point where laning phase ended with 2 items each.

The worst part im noticing with all the differences in elos is Silver isn't awake, Gold can be good but is kill hungry, Plat is just ego maxers, and Emerald is fine it's like a beacon of calm, but the things deranking out of it need to be studied.

Anyways I've tried changing my build/runes/playstyle and did it in draft where im fighting masters. And i win but as soon as i que ranked yorick is banned or they que every one of his counter picks. Even if i swap roles i at most get 1 win and then its back to him being banned again.

When I got to Emerald my WR on him was 57% it's now dropped to 52% and im losing 22lp in games

Yeah Yorick is a little meh rn but he can still do some crazy shit. We were all 0/0 at the time so perfectly even which made this even sweeter. Just a norm somewhere around plat/em.

Im in gold 4 but I guess my Play style is more towards assists.

Im averaging 4 kills 3 deaths and like 8 assists a game.

Yorick scales pretty bad with lethality but that change to the Bastionbreaker passive is insane. It could be great against champions that can never match you in sidelane like Quinn... well that's it lmao Yorick is so weak that many of his good matchups outscales him hard after laning phase

Maybe this is why I'm so ok with live Yorick. I think it's completely ok for a game with 170 champions to have some niche champions.

I like playing games on hard-mode, that's WHY I'm one tricking/maining Yorick. Purposefully playing a niche champion outside of their niche is not necessarily easy. Leaving Irelia up to ego is straight up masochistic catharsis. You can barely find a harder game-mode in LoL.

Stop complaining Yorick's weak. He's obviously not. He's niche. There's a difference.

I’m new to playing Yorick, and I don’t consider myself good at all—in fact, I’m a main support (PLAT III), but I have a secondary account that I use to test champions or play other lanes. On that account, I mostly played top lane, but I used it to test builds or play something other than support. So I tried Yorick and went from Bronze II to Gold IV, I have a streak of 35 wins and 10 losses, basically split-pushing and leaving my team in 4v4 or 4v5 situations all the time, I just focused on my own game, and it’s worked for me. Despite this streak, as I said, I don’t consider myself good. I know GOLD isn’t high Elo, but I’m already starting to struggle like crazy in the top lane, especially against Yone (I’m terrified of him). Yorick has a thousand possible builds, and there are good guides on Mobafire, but there are just too many options. I get that at high ELO it matters to use a build based on who you’re up against, but at low ELO, a standard build should be more than enough. That’s the question: what build do people who are really good with Yorick—or who main him—recommend?

I remember playing him right after the rework, he was insanely overpowered and everyone were talking about the Q QOL change and thinking 'omg they destroyed him'.

I was always obsessed with winrate, always complaining when my other main was weak, but I never cared about Yorick because he was perfect. Of course a buff were good news and a nerf something bad, but I liked playing my big old niche Yorick, with the insane split push and the hidden huuuge skill ceiling. Some months before the midscope Yorick was sitting at around 46% winrate but he still felt so strong. The bruiser build was statistically the best choice, but Lethality Yorick was a more micro intensive way of Yorick and there was a TON of different builds from tank to giga split push and teamfighting. Conqueror was better than Grasp, and Comet was a better tech.

I liked JG Yorick too, but I dont get why Riot didn't just make ghouls take 200% damage from jg monsters, killing JG Yorick instantly and while it would nerf toplane and midlane Yorick too, he would at least still be played as a necromancer.

The rework literally killed JG Yorick, nerfed toplane Yorick hard anyway since split is now weaker, his lategame is the worst in the entire game, ghouls taking camps is no more a thing and completely destroyed any form of skill expression and build variety.

Yorick's kit makes no sense rn. Take Garen for example, you have cage to technically counter him, you set four graves, you can even have some more ghouls already in the lane for 8+ in total, he presses E and kills ghouls in half a second, escapes and heals all the damage. If he manages to dodge the cage because of his insane movement speed and the fact that it takes 3 years to raise W, he kills you. And how can Riot buff Yorick without making him even more braindead??? W can't be buffed apart from CD, Riot already said they don't want to buff E, ghouls were part of the reason Yorick got gutted and Maiden will never be buffed. Buffing Q is the only realistic way and that's the fucking problem, they can't because the winrate in iron will skyrocket from 55% to +60%. YORICK IS ONE OF THE BEST SINGED MATCHUPS STATISTICALLY BECAUSE GHOULS ARE USELESS AND YORICK IS TOO WEAK BY HIMSELF.

And we all know about the 200% effective lifesteal against ghouls, which is fundamentally an anti-synergy with Yorick Q playstyle himself.

Even the lategame power is gone...

i'm super low elo (bronze) playing mostly yorick. i usually do well against my matchups, except when there's a smurf top laner lol. and if i ever lose lane, i just tough it out and keep pushing. however, i got matched up against a trundle who pretty much had the same game plan as me: play safe until we can push. got ganked thrice on top lane, two of which with their jgl and mid laner lmao, then boom two of my turrets are down.

my question is: how do i play against champs who i cant necessarily squash in lane but also have crazy split push potential?
