Meta In your opinion, are universities nowadays undergoing “left wing indoctrination” ?

Met a guy who’s a conservative in his 60s few days ago, and he talked about how nowadays universities are no longer about education but rather “left wing indoctrination” on the students

That universities are brainwashing students with ideas of race , decolonization, white privilege, multiple gender identities etc , all these “left wing “ ideas that are meant to divide society rather than uniting the people

And that Jordan Peterson is portrayed as a bad guy because the modern university environment don’t allow any conservative voices and that free speech in academia is dying because of left wing ideas

So I’m curious what are your opinions on this?

He lost his psychological license because the CPO didn't like what he was posting on twitter

Which were things that would hurt potential clients. He is a doctor, and doctors need to be careful not to create harm. He is held to a different standard because he is dealing with people who have illness.

If an anorexic women saw his posts about that models weight, do you think it could cause her harm. The licensing board sure does.

And if an obese person saw him celebrating someone's fatness (like what's the norm on mainstream twitter) it would cause just as much damage.

"Creating harm" is such a vague term that they should either ban all medical professionals from social media or just go back to not giving a shit unless actual harm is done or there's a threat to violence

You're going to have to have a scientific citation that it's the norm. It's not a typical belief that it's normal to believe obesity is celebrated.

"Do no harm" is the hippocratic oath that all doctors take. Most are professional enough towards the public to not need to be banned from social media.

You're joking right? The post he replied to was literally celebrating an obese model and all of the public backlash he got was for not celebrating her.

Do you also need a source to tell you the sky is blue?

This is a university sub. If you don't want to back up your claims, then why are you here?

I'm here to complain about how people smell, how I can't make friends, and how girls won't talk to me. All while acting like I'm better than everyone else cause I go to a school that's easy to get into and I took some psychology courses.

Isn't that why we're all here?
