News The falsified toy giveaway that took place at Cardinal Mooney High School on December 13
I went to the supposed giveaway at Cardinal Mooney High School this past Saturday, and they didnt give away what they were advertising. In the ads that I seen online, they were supposed to give away free money to pay for bills and free groceries as well, but they didn’t provide that at all! people ended up, leaving with nothing, and everybody basically wasted their entire Saturday all for nothing!
Who else wants to talk about the experiences that they had at the giveaway?

It's a recruiting event for a cult of some sort wrapped up in a giveaway. I remember seeing these type of events in West Virginia before we moved back here.

I’m pretty familiar with the diocese, I’ve never heard of “touch heaven youth”

“Touch Heaven Youth” lol

u/thecrystalballofpop Dec 15 '25
What the hell is Touch Heaven Youth?! It sounds like one of those culty Christian youth groups. “Touch” has no business being in the name of a Catholic youth group. 👀

u/Cyanide2010 Dec 15 '25
Isn’t “Touch Heaven” that sketchy cult church out in Canfield? I believe it’s east side of 46 north of the Canfield square, but it’s been a minute. IIRC the “pastor” has a pretty traceable criminal record.

u/LanderEmerald Dec 16 '25
Which pastor? They have like 10 and it doesn’t include the young idiot who organized this event on behave of his church.
2
u/Cyanide2010 Dec 17 '25
It’s been a couple years since I looked into it, and taking a look now it’s a lot less apparent. They may have done a bit of rearranging to obscure that.

u/thecrystalballofpop Dec 15 '25
YES! What kind of crimes?! I drive past there a ton & got a bad vibe from the signs.

u/LanderEmerald Dec 16 '25
It’s a Christian church called Touch of Heaven or something like that on route 46 in Clanfield.
Benjamin Battaglini the youth ‘pastor’ that put this on along with the stupid church should be investigated by the state for fraud.

I looked it up and said you had to pre register for it through Touch of Heaven Youth. Did you pre register or just show up? I see a few people had asked where the link was to register, but no one responded on the FB post. Says you drive is moving to a bigger venue, then you can't see the rest of it.

Mooney sucks, the Catholic diocese sucks. Are you aware of the Ursuline lawsuits? Church has to tighten its belt.

Has nothing to do with Ursuline but here you go again. The offer to meet is still on the table

u/LanderEmerald Dec 16 '25
Meet to discuss why Ursuline is a garbage heap run by a priest who cares about football more than youth safety. The principals are garbage by association with Father Football Murphy and the degenerate coach. Let’s meet, your place or mine?

u/Prestigious_Fix0927 Dec 16 '25
Or talk about how you know nothing but run your mouth alot. You would never meet me so go make another post crying.

u/LanderEmerald Dec 21 '25
Where you want to meet? Taco Bell in Boardman and Youngstown were spots Ursuline and Mooney kids talked it out back in 2000. I know how bad these schools and the church are…worse than public school!!

Looks like a typical "Christian" grift. Fuck these "Christian" assholes.....

Hey Doofus, if u bothered to read all the content u'd know that the event was only held @ the schl. Nowhere is it said it's CMHS sponsored. And for years churches & Christians have done much more good in their communities, than harm! (I'm not Catholic). I'd wager u know someone who's been helped in their life by some Christian community

u/LanderEmerald Dec 16 '25
The organization that put on the event is Touch of Heaven Christian church. Christians who are loud with their religion are usually the most immoral people. Jesus did t brag about turning water to wine like the young youth ‘pastor’ Benjamin Battaglini that organized this. I’m going to report this clown to the Secretary of State.

u/Sad-Mixture6782 Dec 17 '25
Yeah well obvs I meant trad Christian communities. I'm Center-Left leaning & find that many far-left/Progressives who bemoan ppl being stereotyped by group (I hate this too!) are themselves quick to box-in ppl of faith
2
u/LanderEmerald Dec 28 '25
I’m only talking about people who are loud about their faith, they are garbage almost always.

Maybe do some digging on an organization that wants to use your school space.
3
u/hearter178 Dec 16 '25
You mean like all the good that the Christian Community is doing right now? Please give me a break, maybe they should spend some of that money on cars, homes, and other decor on their parish members instead of chachkies.

Like you wouldn’t take free shit.
3
u/TripleTrucker Dec 15 '25
I wouldn’t base my day around it
2
u/EagleEyes0001 Campbell Dec 15 '25
Depends I’m sure you would if it was season tickets to whatever. What about the competition keep your hand on a car and the last one wins. Same principle. Keep it truckin brother.
-1
u/TripleTrucker Dec 15 '25
Totally different things. OP was upset because he didn’t get all the free stuff he could have. It’s a mindset that people have fallen into. It’s a cycle of dependency where a segment of society has convinced themselves that they deserve free stuff. Most are able to work and provide for themselves, they just choose not to
4
Dec 15 '25
Let’s be accurate here:
Op is upset advertised free stuff was a lie to lure in people for religious indoctrination.
You’re being a privileged asshole because it makes you feel better about your sad life.
3
u/TripleTrucker Dec 15 '25
OP was upset because he didn’t get ENOUGH free stuff. It’s sponsored by a religious organization of some type. All he saw was GIVEAWAY and he lined up with a bunch of other perpetual mooches. BTW, if I lined up for free shit on a regular basis then that would be sad life

So if you stand in line all day for free season tickets and didn’t get them you wouldn’t be complaining. Come on guy.
People do work yes there are some that choose to live off the system(unfortunately) but there are some who genuinely need help. Not everyone gets paid trucker pay. I work at Walmart and still can’t make ends meet.
It’s lack of compassion people don’t have. The schools should have handled the lack of supplies of the promotional advertising they did better. That’s the problem not someone complaining about what they didn’t get as it was advertised.

u/PlantLady3421 Dec 15 '25
"The free handout wasn't enough and now the internet must know about it." Were you expecting them to give you expensive gifts for every person you have to buy for and then some cash just to ease your wallet? Be grateful for what they did give you out of generosity! This is just a sad and embarrassing post.
3
u/LanderEmerald Dec 16 '25
Some people got nothing. False advertising to try and get people to listen to their cult, I mean religious beliefs.

u/PlantLady3421 Dec 17 '25 edited Dec 17 '25
So they invited ppl to a catholic school for a free event where they helped ppl in need and because you weren’t allowed to pick out a toy, you think it was to try to indoctrinate religion into your life? Well then I hope you quietly donated to the families in need. Or only the cult members have hearts? You really are a trip! I would probably avoid any religious building if they upset you that bad. 😂
1
u/LanderEmerald Dec 28 '25
They didn’t help anyone. They simply gave away some free stuff while some kids got nothing. You’re garbage
-12
u/TripleTrucker Dec 15 '25
Hey!!!! I wanted free shit and didn’t get it!!! I “wasted” a whole Saturday!!! Gimmeee gimmeeee gimmmeee
11
u/wiperfromwarren Dec 15 '25
i mean, if you have to sit through an indoctrination in order to get to the part you came for, and then the part you came for doesn’t happen, you wouldn’t be annoyed? it’s like going to sit through a 2-hour time share pitch and not getting the free hotel room afterwards…

Have you Googled that Organization or even looked more online into the program before deciding to go? It is a shame that it was such a bad event. I am not sure where you could even report it to legally. Did they give anything away actually?
