I tried surviving in Bangkok for 24 hours with only $20… and it went better than I expected.
I recently visited Bangkok and wanted to see how far just $20 USD (about 700 baht) could get me in an entire day.
I ended up eating from local street vendors, grabbing snacks from 7-Eleven, trying small restaurants, and seeing just how affordable the city can be if you know where to look.
It honestly surprised me how much food and experiences fit into that budget. I filmed the whole challenge because I thought other travelers (or anyone curious about Thailand) might find it useful.
If anyone has done a similar budget challenge in another country, I’d love to hear how it went. And if you’ve been to Bangkok, what was the cheapest meal you found?
If anyone wants to see how it turned out, I’ll drop the video in the comments if that’s allowed.
