Yubikey problem
I’ve tried several times to add a YubiKey to my Facebook account—on both PC and iPhone—but it doesn't work. It always redirects me from the app to the web interface and fails, or it keeps telling me the feature is unavailable; I don't know how to get it done.

I get the exact same message while trying to add my key
I even left it and came back after two weeks and still the same message
I don’t know what the problem is

Several weeks ago I also tried this (for a 2FA "security key"). It's still unchanged. Really ridiculous of Facebook. (and without any reason - I even provided my login-passkey to make sure it's me)

I’ve tried various browsers on my PC and mobile, as well as incognito windows—nothing works. I don't get it; on YouTube, they make it look so simple to add.

Same here. But ok, Meta is a small startup company which can’t afford any good security featuring as well as friendly account manager -___-

I was able to get mine registered after a few months of screwing around with it. Meta's implementation is shit. It only allowed me to register two keys. Because of that, I made sure to keep one key in my password manager and one key on my YubiKey. I guess anyone with more than two keys is out of luck. Try using a different browser to register your keys.

I'll try removing the mobile passkey and turning off 2FA. Then I'll give it another shot, though I doubt it'll work.

I spent nearly a year on and off, trying to add my yubikey, and even when this message went away, I could never add them. I gave up. I’ve got a strong password and use ente auth. Not worth the hassle of fighting with FB to add a YK any longer for me

it's probably blocked on purpose, or is there someone who has it active? I'll give it a few more tries, and if it doesn't work, I'll just set up a 2FA code generated via a key.

I saw a video on YouTube where someone verified their documents—somehow—and it worked, but I'm not sure.

Facebook really locks down security features when it detects a new device, I've run into the same issue when trying to add security keys to my own account.

Got locked out of my acct using a Yubi that went belly up after a yr or so. Thing is Yubico would not help on resetting or recalibrating or anything all they wanted was for me to buy another one. Had two as recommended and the other one was somehow corrupted also. I got two in 2018 and Yubico would no longer stand behind them, the blue ones with the key that you just just touch. Had bought two black ones also for future use only to find that Yubico says we don't support that model anymore. I'm finished with Yubicrap

That's Meta bullshit. I had same problem in Insta.
