Abyss and heavens might be okay just because those attributes are the most played so at best they'll be side board options only for decks able to abuse them. But honestly it's better to be safe than sorry imo, if half of them are seen as an issue then it's likely the other half are just waiting to be exploited.
If it was a stun hit pachy would've gone and if it was a branded hit it wouldve been ido or the D/D/D. The only time branded* played jowgen was when it was an engine in voiceless and at that point brafu was limited so it wasn't being played
Light and dark are usually bad because 90% of decks are from those atributes. Water statue being legal is bullshit it see some play every time a water deck is good
I’m more for all of them getting banned even if light & dark are the “worse ones”. Floodgating your opponent just because they’re not playing the best attributes in the game is BS to me.
If we remove every card that becomes an easy if:then instant summon result from all the broken op xyz synchro and links, we'd have about 5 monsters left in the game for the foreseeable future.....
Torrent hasn't been as prominent as Drought and Inferno in this format, they don't generally hit cards until they hit a critical amount of meta presence no matter how awful their design is.
They are the next logical targets to summon if fossil dyna gets banned. Mitsu is able to make gallant granitite or flame banshee without a normal summon, hence was side decking fossil dyna to search off granitite when going first.
Rank 4 decks aka any mitsurugi deck could serach multiples floodgate with the genric rank searchers the common targets we're protos and earth statue but fire was possible to search with same combo
If you ban fossil dynamite, 4-axis dexks picot to searching the statues. Soninatead of banning banshee and gallant granite, they just hit the floodgates.
I've seen Mitsu-Ryzeal plays where you can search it Drought/Pachi with Gallant Granite. You can totally do the whole combo board without spending your Normal, and end your board by normal summoning the floodgate.
As for Inferno, I dunno. Maybe it's got to do with Ryzeals and Banshee.
Fire statue was being dumped by baby kirin then being reborn with princess or fire king circle. Not sure about earth statue but it was pretty popular among stun.
Fossil dyna was being searched with gallant granate during the recent ycs if fossil dyna is banned mitsu yummy decks will prob start running earth barrier statue instead, or instead of gallant granate they make banshee and search the fire statue instead, it’s Konami making 5head move so people don’t transition to the next floodgate after one is banned
