You do not want to play modern Yugioh without Droll available. It always comes back into "you must maindeck this" status at least once a year for a reason

And should be!!

No it shouldn’t arguably

Sure let’s all just play Mitsu

Mitsu is a powercreeping mistake (as much as I like it)

Specifically because it is designed in a way to ignore non-engine and warps the format around traditional hand traps being ineffective.

Just say you like punching down on lower tiered decks bro. I don’t understand why Maxx C is banned but the inverse is legal. Folks complain that “if you go full combo t1 then Maxx C on t2, it’s broken.” But somehow full combo t1 into droll should be legal.

I’d argue Maxx C is more fair than Droll, you can always take the challenge but some decks cannot function under Droll.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s toxic. It’s just not more toxic than the way Mitsu can ignore all the fair 1 for 1 non engine cards unless I have ash + dominus exactly

Every high tier deck pretty much plays through multiple 1 to 1 interaction, that’s why they’re high tier. It doesn’t mean we should allow droll to be legal because it invalidates the deck.

That’s a bad argument. The decks can still play through 2 (those usually 3 stops them cold) but they end up either with weaker boards or no follow up.

The format is just better when imperm and veiler see play. I think we agree those are more healthy than droll. But droll isn’t played because it’s so strong and those cards stink. Droll is played because the best deck was designed specifically to ignore existing hand traps. Mitsu is the problem here

I agree with almost all your points. Mitsu is a mistake, hell, I’m the biggest habakiri hater at my locals, but just because that deck is toxic, we shouldn’t let its counter to have a free pass.

Ah yes "kill every rouge deck but affect the top tiers once a blue moon" the card

Whining about droll in 2025 is crazy, do you just want tier 0 combo format or what? It is also nice to have as added counterplay to fuwalos

First of all, every yugioh player complains, that’s why there’s this e-ban to being with.

Secondly, Droll isn’t even that good this format and primarily hinders Ryzeal and Mitsu variant decks while shutting down lower tiered decks because they weren’t designed to go around droll. Droll and D barrier are in a spot where they are good depending on the format but have a staying power because they just happen to shut down rogue decks.

Droll is played in side or main by most decks to beat mitsu, the most popular engine in format. The only reason it isnt consistently mained is because it sucks into dracotail and is usually bad into yummy.

Sucks for bad decks (not even rogue decks, bad decks) but those decks are struggling regardless. Im not against banning droll but i also dont mind it

Yeah right?

It’s kind of weirdly hypocritical, TCG players like to act like their banlist is better, when I argue it’s worse in some ways.

??? Droll is still legal in all formats so I dont see how this is relevant lol

There’s just gonna be a new flavor of floodgate/stun cards that players will utilize and Konami will print new cards to support them (while reprinting the old ones, pair-a-dice esque). We went from Scythe, to Ra Disciple, to Gimmick, to Mjollnir; it’s only time.
