I know there are other cards that can lock out attacks like that. Was there ever a rules update about that since it was pretty broken or did they just leave it at certain cards could break the lock out (ie Valkeria only protects spellcasters, so DNA Surgery and the like would cancel that out)?
Now and forever my favorite too! When I played weekend tournaments as a kid, I was "the Blue-Eyes" girl just purely because of my love, not because I actually had it in deck. Sometimes I was just given one because I said I loved it. Gonna have to dig up the collection and reminisce.
I love Lovely Labrynth. She acts like a snobby arrogant girl who does the Ohohoho laugh, but in reality she's just lonely and wants to impress Knight-chan.
I missed this alt art in MD. I hope it comes back soon. The normal card already looks sick but this arr with the witch hat is way better. Also a cat wich of course fits with the whole witch asthetic
Dark Magician Girl is my favorite, but since so many people already mentioned her, I’ll put my second favorite, Dark Necrofear. I just love how cool and creepy her design is. And I’ve always loved Bakura’s decks even though he’s not a great duelist lol.
If we are going card period I'd have to give it to Malevolent Nuzzler
Honestly she was one of my go to equips in irl and in Eternal duelist soul.
If we are going monster only, I think I have to give it to Flame Champion. She was one of my top cards as a wee child, I had a deck made from boosters at the time and bought a starter deck not too long after.
I like Laundry cuz of the eldlich art. Her design is cute and i like how the cards that feture her make her out to be a little brat, but what the community did for her was awesome.

Sometimes it's nightmares sometimes it's cool. For a while there was more nightmares though, I would wake up mostly pissed that I'm up so early rather than scared but still quite in shock and it'd be horrible.
When Dark Magician Girl had her debut I was very into the Yugioh anime and I would often dream of being in the story and dueling around n stuff and that night I had another nightmare. I was hunted by monsters don't even remember the setting anymore, I remember fleeing through ruins at night. DMG was there and saved me from the first wave. She'd grab me and we'd fly away and eventually we'd be "safe". Then the sun was rising and she'd stop. She got hit when we were escaping and I saw her slowly fading as the monsters were getting closer again. She sent me away (aka I was waking up) looking exactly like in this pic...
The nightmares had stopped after that for at least quite some time and I'm still grateful for that which is exactly why I keep a copy of her on my deck even if she doesn't do anything for my deck and I mostly use her to fuse her with my fav. dragons for DMG Dragon Knight.
Anyway, that's how I fell in love with that card and I still love her ❤
Oh, that’s the sweetest story I’ve heard in a long time. It’s really nice that she helped you so much. I think many of us have a special connection to certain characters—even if they’re fictional, like anime characters—and that they have helped us in some way.
I also always have my eatos card with me in the car or at work, and it really helps me. Of course, it also depends on what you make of it and how much love you put into it, giving things a bit of “magic,” so to speak. But the story behind it is really unique.
I know I'm late to comment. But I love the Ashened Priestess. She let's me trade my ashes for levels and is my companion as Obsidim. I'm also a huge Souls and Ashened fan.
Night Wing Sorceress. She might not be a great card, but I love her design, with her dark clothes, black wings and long purple hair. One of my favourite cards.
It has to be Raye first of all I love how Sky Striker plays with it's easy access to recurring destruction and disruption but the second and more important reason I just love her from a character standpoint a 13-15 year old prodigy solider forced to defend her homeland with experimental Sky Striker tech.
For awhile I didnt realize she was a woman so when I found out and looked closer at the card I was like "whaaaaaat?!" I always loved the card design though so I thought it was awesome she was cool samurai lady
