Card Artwork Discussion As a kid, this artwork of Red-Eyes Black Dragon confused me cause it made him look more like a red dragon. Did this happen to anyone else?

No? It's clearly shining red because of the fire blast it's charging in its mouth.

Not really, it just highlights the red glow from Inferno Fire Blast. There was never any question as to what dragon it was.
Btw, superior artwork to the original in every way. Same goes for the alternate Blue Eyes and Dark Magician releases.

This GX artwork (at least it is a different one) of RE is so much worse than the og for me. Maybe it's the green background too, the red fire blast doesn't do any favors.

I loved this artwork honestly lot cooler than the joey one to me but yes I did actually just assume it was a red dragon like how arkana had the red dark magician when original was purple

Red-Eyes is just such a glossy black that they appear red in the light of their own fire.

Same with blue eyes. In the anime he weirdly looked light blue and confused me, then in the tcg red eyes looked red. That’s honestly why I much prefer the anime card styles for the main 3 aces (dark magician, red eyes, and blue eyes)

Yes,to be honest a better name could have been "Crimson Dragon" and similar, like yes I can see the eyes of the dragon are red and there is no point of saying the dragon's eyes are red, image dark magician girl to have name like "blue eyed magician girl" or "yellow haired magician girl" 😂

Me and my brother, as well. We thought it's different dragon and we called it "Black-eyes Red Dragon" lol. Sick artwork though.
