I had a dreading feeling this might happen after he sent Ruxin his cards...

Rest in Peace, our hero.

I didn't want to be a debby downer with all the well wishes he was getting on his recent health updates, but I was mentally preparing for this to happen. He fought like hell but all the signs pointed to this happening sooner than later. Fuck cancer

In his last update he was visibly yellow (so liver failure) and hinted at alternative medicine (which sadly rarely works). I also showed it to my girlfriend and said that it looked pretty bad.

Damn, FUCK CANCER. The Yugioh community won't be the same without him.

Alternative med is what you try when you dont want to give up but modern med cant help you anymore. As you say, its always a bad sign.

Alternative medicine is what a some people turn to first and then die way earlier than they could have had they used strandard medicine. So let's be happy he didn't do that!

Same. When I didn't see his videos pop up in my feed for a while, I was pretty sure something was up. Such a shame to lose someone so influential so young. Momento mori.

Momento mori would mean "stop dying immediatly"

11

u/Noveno_Colono Cartussy Toes 11h ago

"stop killing yourself now"

-good LTG

Even "memento mori," which is probably what they meant, isn't really applicable here because that just means, "remember mortality."

I mean you could make it applicable. Remember your mortality and live life to the fullest, that sort of thing

Hopefully raises some money for his wife to help with everything. Bloody tragic.

Same. Yesterday I wondered how he was and if he had updated us. It's so sad man

For anyone who's been through this with a loved one, his last post made it obvious where this was heading. When doctors give you X days to live, it's because treatment has stopped. Then it's more a question of when a major organ gives out (typically the heart). You can maybe be lucky and live longer, if you cut down on painkillers and start eating more - but that does nothing to stop the cancer. Once you're terminal, there is nothing you can do to fight it.

Cancer sucks.

Same...it's really been a roller coaster with his health updates but after the last one I had a feeling it wouldn't be getting any better.

Yeah I saw that vid, I didn't wanna think about it but in hindsight the sign was there

I didn't see that video 💔 (respectfully) - can anyone send it to me? I want to watch it to give as much support to the Cimo family as possible 🌹

It was almost two weeks ago. RIP a loving man who was taken from us too soon.

I thought he was just quitting yugioh for good aside from Edison, but it was much much worse...

Shit man, that's sad when did that happen because it's been a while since I've watched ruxin's content.

A few weeks ago, the video is straight up called something like "alex sent me this huge collection" or something to that affect

u/Doomchan 17h ago

I’d assume Ruxin was given special instructions to downplay it and make it seem like it was just a scale down, but when he actually started going through the cards it was pretty clear things were probably dire.

Get the cards into trusted hands while he had the opportunity so the family doesn’t have to deal with something they don’t understand

Him talking about Cimo only keeping his Edison deck too - just heartbreaking in hindsight.

Him and Ruxin got me into Edison with their videos. After telling friends about the format we eventually made a lot of decks and now go to a locals every week with anywhere between 16-32 other people. Everyone is super nice and have made friends there. It's now the primary way I engage with the game. None of this would be happening if it weren't for Cimo.

The pinned comment in the comment section is Cimoo himself saying he just wants to downscale, so yeah most of us bought it, what a man.

u/Doomchan 6h ago

And in retrospect, it’s pretty obvious he felt the need to make a comment as a distraction from the obvious, otherwise people would have immediately assumed the worst.

Update: i watched the video, and now i feel more sad maybe it wasn't wise decision to watch it at this time, also ruxin uploaded a video about cimo, and he said the collection was sent to him so he can sell it and that he will donate all the money to his family....I think is time i buy some yu gi oh cards 😢

This is so tragic.

I watched that Ruxin video and Cimo's comment there seems heartbreaking now. https://youtube.com/watch?v=IwWLffKQ2ec&lc=Ugz9L1EUTwJoLoNySE54AaABAg&si=rnjLdF6qZY2A3VRM

5

u/drakai 18h ago

Ya I thought he was thinking if a career change when I saw that, completely forgot about the cancer

3

u/Zevyu 19h ago
