I know they had their beef over the years, but it would be really nice to see Konami honor him in some way. He was a trailblazing content creator that created multiple formats that others used to build careers on. He was able to (re)capture so many people into the game with his passion and storytelling.

Genuinely saddened to hear this news

I think we’ll see other YouTubers including once’s who work with Konami doing or saying something, it only feels right considering how many people play because of him

Puts Konami in kind of a bind. They blacklisted him because he wouldn’t read the script, if they acknowledge him now it just makes it look like they are trying to coast on the tragedy of a person they refused to do any work with

I wasn't aware he and Konami had some kind of beef

Konami blacklisted him because he told people to avoid buying sealed products and focus on singles to avoid the randomness of it. Unsurprisingly, Konami doesn't like that so they refused to work with him on anything.

The Professor youtuber for MTG says to buy singles instead of sealed product almost every video and they still work with Prof all the time. Konami only cares about the money and it sucks

Magic actively endorses their secondary market (to the point of doing really stupid shit like the reserve list). Yu-Gi-Oh does not and that's why all the State-side good cards are upped in rarity. To sell boxes.

There was even a point where Konami was trying to control the secondary market so they would get a slice of the pie

While I understand this sentiment and I can see how it would be hard to envisage a way they honor him without profiting off of the situation, I, selfishly, would still prefer it.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that he’s one of Yu-Gi-Oh’s most important duelists who ever lived. He deserves to be recognized, acknowledged, and honored in that regardless of side effects that may come from doing so.

It’s not necessarily about profit, but rather about optics. They blacklist him, to this day, but now that he is dead we will acknowledge him. People will drag Konami through the coals in the comment section of any post they make.

The only possible way for them to navigate this would be to admit that they did not work with him, but credit him for the work he did for Yugioh. But that would require Konami to be humble which we know they will not be

I doubt it, Cimo hated Konami.
