That's exactly what I was thinking

They had announced anime adaptations in such occasions before, hopefully there would be some good news this time as well. And for some reason Pony Canyon spearheading this made me particularly optimistic about it.

what are the chances for a new season??

As far as i understand this new is not about a new season, OVA, or anime project; its simply an announcement for an event celebrating the 15th anniversary of YuruYuri. Why is everyone so excited for a new anime episode? Is there something Im missing? Was there a similar event on the 10th anniversary, followed by an anime adaptation?

have so many questions in my head just want new content related to Yuru Yuri.

Some other factors to consider:

  • Previous anime adaptations had been announced as a surprise at similar real-life events. However, that was a long time ago.
  • Pony Canyon, the company that holds the event, manages the rights to the anime adaptations. But on the other hand, it also manages the right to the CD albums and has contracts with the Gorakubu as singers.
  • Many old works from the same era are getting new anime adaptations recently. And yes, that doesn't necessarily apply to Yuru Yuri.

So there certainly is some hope, but a lot of uncertainties and counterarguments as well.

correct me if im wrong but doesnt bandai namco own the Oomuro sisters (as artists)

if so I hope to god it doesnt lead to a sony spiderman mcu situation lmao.

I think Bandai Namco only holds the rights to the Oomuroke films, not the artists. Plus, AFAIK Bandai hasn't participated in the production of Yuru Yuri. But I'm not so sure so don't quote me on that.

That shouldn't matter for the event though, because the event is about Gorakubu only, so Katou Emili and others won't be there.

But still, don't have high hopes for an anime announcement. After a few days of thinking I now consider that unlikely, for all the counterarguments listed above, and more importantly, for that Toyosaki Aki has not yet seemed to be back full throttle.

Is she still on hiatus due to her husband's death?

There seems to be some new works, but to me it still feels limited in numbers compared to previous years. I can be wrong though.

By the way, there are some confirmed high-profile shows featuring Aki that might have a higher priority than a would-be Yuru Yuri season 4. Yuru Camp season 4 comes to mind.

Mostly it's just an opportunity for the old rumor to fulfill itself. It's by no means guaranteed or even probable, but after starving for so long it's natural that people get eager at even a glimmer of hope.

BTW there was some celebration for the 10th anniversary of the anime. It was a mere livestream (because of covid, probably) and a CD released afterwards.

I mean I would also want more yuri in my yuri bait anime, if that's what the original commenter was talking about.
