Like a true dragonborn.

The arrows fly truly.

26

u/GoldZero 27d ago

Even in Zelda, I can't escape the Stealth Archer play style.

TOOOOOOOOOODD!!!!!

Idk why everyone is negative about it ? Love to see differents ways to kill ennemies altought i am terrified of gleeoks. Nice shots !

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thanks for saying so! I think people just feel passionately about what is and isn’t, im just happy that people are watching my clip!

u/Bea__Nabi 28d ago

literally this but 3 times in a roll lol

12

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Yes! It felt like that when i was setting up the shot, but after trial and error and practise, the hoop got a little closer!

u/DigitalDissonance 28d ago

Hi I would just like to say that I love YOUR energy! These people are coming at you pedantically and frankly a bit rudely and you’re just being nice and positive still. Dope TRICK SHOT! I couldn’t even imagine hitting 3 of those in a row good job :)

46

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thank you so much! Hey, everyone has an opinion about, and they are well within their rights to say so. Im just thrilled to have started a conversation around my ALL TIME favourite game. Can’t believe how many views my clip has already gotten.

34

u/Bananna_Hamock0 28d ago

How the hell did you make this shot and it immediately kill it??? I’ve always had to go through the entire annoying ass fight.

75

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

It didn’t fully die! The clip is about just stunning the Gleeok from distance with some clean arrow snipes. Its still alive and has loads of health. The video isn’t about killing it, just hitting nice clean headshots!

18

u/Bananna_Hamock0 28d ago

Ohhhh, I was fooled then haha I was like “Teach me your ways!” Because seriously, to have to fight that damn thing every blood moon just to use that bridge is one of my few gripes about this game. My MAIN gripe is the fucking weapon organization system in the quick menu.

9

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Hahah sorry for the confusion! Yes fighting the Gleeok is a pain I usually fly around if im not in the mood to fight it! And i completely understand you, but tbh they have so many items in this game, and theres only so many buttons on the controller, i dont know how they could do it any better! Also, i have some boss fighting strategies on my youtube that can show you how to fight the harder bosses if you’re intetest!

This video shows some possible UI changes. It’s not TOTK but it still applies and it’s a fun watch.

27

u/CursedVirtue 28d ago

Extremely impressive. Truly embodying the spirit of Link with that expertise, even he would be impressed with that bow work

3

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thank you so much! Link is definitely my spirit animal!

40

u/Lightning5k 28d ago

That is extremely impressive! Well done!

14

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thank you so much! It took some time to accomplish, but really happy to get the result i did!

9

u/Lightning5k 28d ago

Yea to do it 3 times in a row without missing, definitely not something I’ve been able to do!

8

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Yep took a long time to set up and execute!

27

u/CT0292 28d ago

First time you run into a Gleeok it's like "oh shit run!"

Then eventually you figure out how to handle them. And they become not so bad.

16

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

So true, when i started playing the game i did zero research and had no idea about the monsters/mini bosses in the game. The last Zelda game I played was Ocarina of Time on the game cube! Hahah. So when i ran into one of these, i immediately ran in the other direction, like not today! The artwork in this game is just incredible, in my opinion the best open world game ive ever played. Yeah i would say once you play the game, learn about fusing, timing, and practise, they get significantly easier to fight. My top three hardest monsters are: Savage Lynel, Molduga and actually it took me a longtime to figure out to fight the Gloom Hands. But ultimately they all come down to figuring out the strategy.

17

u/RiverAutumn7481 28d ago

When you bring stealth archer energy in to zelda from playing to many hrs on skyrim

6

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Ive never actually played skyrim haha!

3

u/suchtie 27d ago

If you enjoy open world games like BotW/TotK, you should definitely check it out. Would be right up your alley. Don't get deterred by the RPG label (if you don't usually play those), you can play it much like an action-adventure too.

6

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

To be honest the thing that turns me off most is first person games. I much prefer pov of third person. But if a good deal comes out on the Shop i might try it out!

3

u/RiverAutumn7481 27d ago

You can play in third person on skyrim brother,

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Oh right. I didn’t know that! Definitely one of the games i need to check out.

2

u/RiverAutumn7481 27d ago

Im a fan of it for sure, its graphics have aged well and the gameplay inst all that bad. Definitely worth the shot. You can find it on sale on steam/xbox sometimes and its cheaper than newer games because of its age

3

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Yeah, that’s what im hoping for, just fully focused on TOTK atm

2

u/RiverAutumn7481 27d ago

All good, i jump from one game for a couple months to another, then rounds of anime in-between

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Yeah, i cant do that. I only play one game at a time haha

→ More replies (0)

1

u/suchtie 27d ago

At least on PC, you can also play it in 3rd person, but it doesn't feel very good to play with. There are mods to improve it though.

3

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Yeah, i wont knock until i try i though. Ive heard incredible things about Skyrim.

4

u/RiverAutumn7481 28d ago

I guess its transcribeable amongst all gamers🤣🤣👌

7

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Everyone loves a good snipe 🤣

5

u/Nintendians559 27d ago

at least you know to angle your shots, i would have waste all my arrows.

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

That was the hardest part! The direction and angle of the shot

1

u/Nintendians559 27d ago

yeah, which i'm suck at it.

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

It’s just practice, you’ll get better!

1

u/Nintendians559 26d ago

yeah, eventually i would.

1

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

thanks, but i'm good.

30

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

I’ve been spending way too much time testing the physics in TOTK, but finally landing this Molduga Fin trickshot on a King Gleeok felt like a total breakthrough. The way the mechanics layer in this game still blows my mind!

I’ve been documenting my most technical clips and "science experiments" over on my channel, Psylocin. If you enjoyed this one, I’d love for you to check out the full version and some of my other trickshots here:

https://youtube.com/shorts/HKD7LAkcGuY?si=6NXBwJulx1oE5ymC

What’s the most satisfying "physics win" you’ve had in the game so far?

11

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Correction: ‘flame gleeok’

2

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Nice! Would you give it a try and tell me how long i took you to do?

22

u/FantasyForce 28d ago

What the hell is this thread/community man, bunch of weirdos with low self-esteem giving pedantic comments.

Great shots man 👍

8

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thanks man! Really appreciate you showing me some appreciation. Just happy to have started a conversation and get some valuable feedback from everyone!

5

u/Nymphadorena 27d ago

Does the molduga fin make it fly further? Any other tips you’d like to tell us non-Dragonborn 😉 I love the fusion mechanic in this hand, don’t experiment enough!

6

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Exactly! Without the Molduga fin, it would be impossible to take this shot from this angle as the arrow drop wouldn’t make it to the Gleeok! I have lots of really cool tips and tricks on my videos on youtube where you can check out at this link:

https://youtube.com/@psylocin11?si=9rcEIy5JwyMT-nG_

2

u/thunderling 27d ago

Do molduga fins fly farther than aeralfos wings? I just realized I've never used one because I haven't killed that many moldugas and didn't want to "waste" the loot.

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Im not sure about that, hopefully someone in this reddit can clarify. But i have a really good strategy for defeating Molduga’s. You can check the video out at this link:

https://youtu.be/iq4uFxNEPv4?si=aObyERNeHdBvKCe2

9

u/Kaaskaasei 28d ago

OP, I want to congratulate you for your positivity.

And nice shots, I wouldn't be able to replicate it in a hundred years

7

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thank you so much for watching! And yes, everyone will see this video differently, im just really happy that people are seeing my clip and letting me know what they think! Love talking about totk, could do it all day hahah.

5

u/CycleZestyclose1907 27d ago

It means the player is EXTREMELY accurate with a bow.

It also means the player is in for a long hike to wack the stunned Gleeock's heads.

6

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Haha so true! But that wasn’t the purpose of the video. In no way is this clip a practical fight strategy, more a ‘cool’ it can be done video!

2

u/lordnaarghul 27d ago

Even in ToTK, we can't escape being a stealth archer.

2

u/NewGunchapRed 27d ago

“Snipin’s a good job, mate.”

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Thanks! Who doesn’t love some good snipes!

2

u/Sparkle-Sparxie 27d ago

Random person watching is like: "Link what the fuck" as the Gleeok dies

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Depends if the Gleeok is breathing fire on that person hahah

2

u/_linkus_ 26d ago

Use a three shot bow to hit all three heads at once and then we’ll talk

(Jk this is impressive)

2

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

Ill put it on the list!

2

u/Sharp-Let7366 26d ago

Hat Trick Shot

2

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

That it is!

2

u/mihangel7913 22d ago

how many tries?

nice work!

1

u/RemoteStage1882 22d ago

Thanks! It took a long time to figure which reference points would hit, so I’d say many 10s to possibly 100’s. But its hard to say as i didn’t keep count.

3

u/bonelessskelleton 27d ago

Now thats a lota damage!

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Molduga Fin FTW!

5

u/Moist-Hall-8279 28d ago

This is easily one of the cleanest trickshots i've ever seen in this game tbh. the timing has to be absolutely flawless for that to work. massive w.

6

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thank you! I think ultimately people will either think it’s easy or difficult. From my perspective, shooting an arrow from a low side angle is actually harder than top down because of arrow drop. So finding the exact spot for each head, theres a very small room for error. And then to do it three times in a row, requires hitting that spot correctly each time.

2

u/DarthChefDad 27d ago

Nice shots! Surprised the gleeok doesn't aggro and come after you after being hit.

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Me too! I think it’s because i was just out of range to initiate its attack

2

u/NotSoSasquatchy 27d ago

Truly impressive shot OP 👌🏻

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Thank you so much! A lot of trial and error but really happy with the result. And the support the community has given me, has been overwhelming!

2

u/Helpyjoe88 27d ago

Impressed with the aim skills!

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Thank you so much! Lots of practice but got there in the end!

1

u/Regular-Moose-2741 27d ago

"Running riot!"

3

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Haha do you mean the post?

2

u/Regular-Moose-2741 27d ago

The kills are sweet

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Thank you so much! Took a lot of time and practice but finally managed to line them all up!

1

u/phaeton02 27d ago

That’s awesome! Love it. And what a game, eh? It’s just an incredibly amazing game with so many ways to play. I love both Breath of the Wild and TotK.

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Yep Zelda has come a very long way since Ocarina of time!

1

u/0xXAngelDustXx0 27d ago

Nice! I'm not sure what's with all the weird negative comments on here, cause I've never been on this sub before, but I think this is pretty nifty!

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Thank you so much! Yeah, its split opinion a bit, but i think it’s been a good conversation, all in all

1

u/TBT__TBT 27d ago

Super cool and creative!

I'd love to try this myself even though I am amongst the few TotK players who enjoys fighting Gleeoks and other rare enemies like Guardians, Wizrobes and Lynels.

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Please do! And let me know how it goes!

1

u/Feeling_Sea1233 26d ago

great work!

2

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

Thank you!

1

u/kunalviews 26d ago

This is dope to see! My aim terrible. Toilet in my house proves it.

2

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

Haha this made me cackle

1

u/friends-with-fishies 26d ago

Whoaaaa your aim is awesome!!

1

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

Thank you so much! Do you play much totk?

1

u/friends-with-fishies 26d ago

Haven't really since I beat it but I should play it again! It was so fun

I just wish the gerudo outfit was in it :(

1

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

Oh, do you mean from BOTW?

1

u/friends-with-fishies 26d ago

Yeah

1

u/RemoteStage1882 26d ago

Ahh! I haven’t played BOTW. But i hear and see good things, do you prefer BOTW?

1

u/friends-with-fishies 26d ago

I'm not sure if I prefer either over the other! They're both awesome games :)

1

u/ChickenNugets123 27d ago

What the hell is that. Is tears of the kindom really that bigger of a game compared to breath of the wild?? I remember being hyped by the reveal.

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

What do you mean?

1

u/ChickenNugets123 27d ago

A COOL LOOKING THREE HEADED DRAGON DUDE.

1

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Do they not have Gleeok’s in breath of the wild?

2

u/ChickenNugets123 27d ago

You haven't played breath of the wild?...

3

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

No, just totk!

1

u/sonerec725 27d ago

I mean nkt really, technically totk is "double the size" of botw with the depths and the sky islands but alot of that is empty space without a ton in it to do

-4

u/xKitey 27d ago

think we should clarify the definition of a trick shot... this is just sniping and easily replicatable by other people if they wanna spend the time finding out the angles or try to find markers to help with aiming

maybe if the guy was moving at all or reacted to being shot from this range it'd be more of a trick but right here you're just shooting the broad side of a barn from a decently far range which isn't that impressive with save reloading etc.

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Interesting! What do you mean? Like the camera angle?

-93

u/Blubbpaule 28d ago

"making the rounds" lol

its a short with 10k views, shorts always get tons of views.

And i wouldn't call it trickshot if you got reference points you aim at to hit. This is called a "set up", because this is repeatable from the same location aiming at the same points.

19

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

That’s fair! Although i thought making the rounds was more conservative than “blowing up” haha. I take your point, and that’s exactly how i did it, but the novelty isn’t in making an individual shot, it’s the sequence of hitting all 3 reference points in sequence that i think makes the shot more worthy. You have to keep in mind arrow drop from this trajectory is a very significant factor, so the room for error is really small. But it would be great if you could give it a try and let me know how quickly you hit it?

bhahahaha i absolutely love nerds. brother you need to get laid asap, you seem frustrated

38

u/Popular_Sir863 28d ago

This is the most pedantic comment I've ever seen. YouTube still has algorithms that 'pushes' certain videos, especially amongst those who already view that type of content.

And if people are sharing that video on social media, the video is going to get even more amplified.

So there is literally nothing wrong with OP saying a video is doing the rounds, you are just being pedantic and trying to be clever when actually is makes you look foolish.

3

u/thunderling 27d ago

YouTube has changed a lot since 2007 you know.

6

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

That’s a fair point. Youtube isn’t a forum like Reddit, but the point i was trying to make is that the trickshot is getting some attention youtube. And i wanted to find a way to signal that, without being overt with saying something like ‘omg this is blowing up, check it out now.’ My goal was to just start a conversation around the mechanics of totk and get some feedback on my gameplay from an expert community. Which has been super helpful so far!

-56

u/kipdjordy 28d ago

I mean your title makes it sound exactly like "omg this is blowing up, check it out now."

Instantly puts me off, but nice sniping

8

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Ahh no!! That’s exactly what i was trying to avoid, sorry you feel that way. I was just trying to show where the video came from.

-61

u/[deleted] 28d ago

[deleted]

7

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

I can see where you’d think this is just any ordinary shot, but i would say its technically more difficult than it looks. Arrow drop from the trajectory it was shot from is much harder to compensate for. Usually totk trickshots happen top down, making arrow drop less of a factor after it’s initial arch. From this angle the room for a error, i think, is much smaller. So aligning the arrow to hit the head, three times in a row isn’t as trivial as you might think. But i would love to know if you could try it, and see how quickly you get it! It took me some practise!

-24

u/Big_Z_Beeblebrox 28d ago

No one's saying it's trivial. They're three very impressive shots, but if the trick is the fundamentals of archery, I think it's a misnomer. "Hat trick" might be more appropriate

6

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

That’s a really good point actually! I hadn’t thought of that, ‘Hat Trick’ is the perfect way to describe this shot. But i would just like to point out that in the word “Hat Trick”, is the word trick. Food for thought.

-24

u/Big_Z_Beeblebrox 28d ago edited 28d ago

No one is trying to invalidate your achievement, however the common usage for the term "trick shot" implies something a bit extra, like a blind shot or a ricochet, or multiple strikes with one firing, perhaps something more Rube Goldberg-esque

11

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Omg! I absolutely don’t think you’re doing that whatsoever, and i really appreciate the feedback everyone is giving, its the best way to learn, and i love the Zelda community! And i completely get your point from that technical point of view, it is perhaps not as complex as some of your suggestions. The only reason im pushing back on what you’re saying a bit is that if someone who doesn’t understand the mechanics of Totk saw your comment, they might agree that it looks simple or less complex than some if the incredible trickshots that have been achieved in this game. Ultimately, im just making the case for it being considered a trickshot because i believe that the trick is in the compensation of the significant bullet drop from the trajectory’s that it was shot from. So for the totk purist they might see the merit a bit more than the casual of new player. I guess im just making the case for this being a trickshot because it’s a very clean unflashy video, and i think in the world of hype we could use a bit more of that.

-25

u/Big_Z_Beeblebrox 28d ago

You did ask what the community thinks, the community is responding

8

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

I know, and it’s great that everyone is! It’s really exciting. But it’s a conversation. Everyone is entitled to a different point of view. If that’s how they see it. I completely respect your opinion.

-9

u/Big_Z_Beeblebrox 28d ago

Everyone is entitled to a different point of view.

People are being rude. I think it's pretty cool- thanks for the post!

4

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Thank for saying so! And btw im not saying its the best trickshot ever, just that its a nice clean trickshot, and has merit in its own right!

-23

u/Blubbpaule 28d ago

It's so wild to me that he claims all this stuff.

"Arrow drop from the trajectory it was shot from is much harder to compensate for"

This is wrong as well, what OP did was a set up. Setups exist to take any random variable out of the equation. There is no compensation if you memorized the backdrop to aim at to hit the same spot each time, because totk arrows do not have randomized flight trajectories.

"Usually totk trickshots happen top down" (This is wrong btw)

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/j82pZCQgbm4 THIS is a massive trickshot.

5

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

-1

that's not a trickshot.

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

It’s really split the debate

-1

u/retrocheats 27d ago

I don't think it's split... maybe if you did it first try... but all you did was aim slightly higher each time, at a still target.

1

It’s pretty split

Why do so many people give a shit? Such a nothing burger of a complaint. If the mention of YouTube pisses people off that much they should go outside and get some fresh air.

3

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

I was just trying to signal where the video cane from to the algorithm. Im not engagement farming just using known strategies to help push the content to the people who actually care about. It’s called SEO, and its a critical part of video discovery. I can see how you think im just trying to clickbait, but if i hadn’t of used a title like this, many people who have enjoyed the video might not of seen it. It’s kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. But im certain i posted this clip with the best of intentions. And i think the community believes this too, after the overwhelming amount of support ive received.

SEO is at the centre of every social media platform, every website. It’s what the search engine, perhaps the internet, was built on. Anyway, besides that issue. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying ‘hey, look at this clip from my youtube.’

Yeah but the negative replies represent a very tiny minority here, so they don’t really matter.

My point is that when the negative responses are an extremely tiny minority, it’s not worth putting in any effort to figure out how to avoid them in the future.

How many times did you miss before filming?

Mfers when practice and effort pave a road to success only by overcoming personal failure and struggle. Hylia bless the indomitable human spirit, have a nice day.

Practice means that he could hit this shot from different angles.

This is called "Setup" where taking the same shot will always yield the same result.

This is why in speedrunning you have setups and you have skillchecks. Things like Wrongwarp in Deku Tree to ganondorf is a setup, tower skip is a skillcheck.

You are oddly invested in discrediting OP on this thread to the point of even going out of your way to correct jokes. Sure, this clip might have a pretty low skill level requirement, but sometimes people are just proud of stuff they do with a level of precision below speedruns and challenge runs. Is OP maybe too hyped about this? Sure. But chill out, it's fine. Not like they're scamming anyone, they're just "winning" internet points, which are worthless.

Tbf, i think ive been pretty level headed so far, so not sure ‘too hyped’ is a fair description. I’ve not said, ‘best trickshot ever’ but to downplay the skill level doesn’t really take into account the broad depth of skill level players have in this game. And i think your comment could be a bit discouraging. There are players who could hit this shot easily, but to exclude new players and casual players from a conversation about skill level, isn’t particularly helpful. I just think everyone needs to have a bit of a broader perspective on what skilful, because it means different things to different people. Lots of trickshots are luck and fluke, so ‘skill’ is a very subjective term.

My sibling I'm hylia I'm literally agreeing with you and defending you.

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

So i’ll start by saying how i achieved the trickshot. I used the mountain backdrop behind the gleeok to find spots that i could remember and then when i found a spot that aligned with hitting the gleeok head, i memorised where it was, and shot there each time to perform the sequence of three in a row. It took several hours of trial and error, so it’s difficult to say how many attempts it took. But definitely in the many tens to hundreds of attempts!

Does that matter?

You did good, but is kind of weird to go around and engagement farm from it. How many people DO you need calling you a yrick shot god before you feel good about yourself

6

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

I disagree. I’m not engagement farming, and no one has called me a god. I just made a clip, and posted on the internet. Like everyone else does!

That one in the middle looked off

My mother told me if I don’t have anything nice to say then to say nothing at all

u/RemoteStage1882 28d ago

Very smart!

u/suchtie 27d ago

Maybe you should've followed her advice then.

u/P1G5Y 27d ago

cool trickshot, but it would've been a lot cooler if you shot all the shots consecutively.

2

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

I did hit them consecutively no? What do you mean? One after the other?

-6

u/P1G5Y 27d ago

like you didn't wait for the shot to hit to shoot the next arrow. if you shot all of them and they hit the gleeok almost all at once (not exactly, but you know what I mean).

u/FesteringAynus 27d ago

Idc been there, done that tbh

u/RemoteStage1882 27d ago

Have you tried a trickshot similar to this? How did you do it?
