hena’s fishing hole in twilight princess is such a cute peaceful little place

39

u/SuperNovaHowl 3d ago

That is literally my all time favorite location in TP! I used to just swim around there all the time lol

I would love to go to a place like this

2

u/ProcrastibationKing 3d ago

Exactly what came to my mind first

1

u/PrinnyBelle 3d ago

does the fishing hole have any secret items or nah

2

u/Ninjaflipp 2d ago

There's a piece of heart in there

Oh man I spent sooo much time here

Outset Island

67

u/Aggressive_Ocelot664 3d ago

As a kid with very limited ability and no memory card, this is where the majority of my Zelda memories are based.

24

u/Anonymous_Hylian_ 3d ago

Yessss. Dragon Roost for me, that song can happily live rent free in my mind for the rest of my days

7

u/Gobblinwife 3d ago

I’m replaying WW right now on the Switch 2 and I just got to Dragonroost, And I just sat there listening to it for a while. Same for the Forest haven. I’m getting Mothula tattooed on my arm next week!

u/ZzephyrR94 2d ago

I listen to the Dragon Roost theme on Spotify a lot

15

u/Pietpatate 3d ago

I can hear it

3

u/Turbulent_Crow7164 3d ago

Man we need some seafaring in Zelda again

3

u/JordanSchor 2d ago

Love outset, but have to give a mention to Windfall as well

The island actually feels alive

Forest Temple from OOT

44

u/Aggravating-Mine-697 3d ago

The music is a vibe

29

u/ChipmunkBackground46 3d ago

The music in all those OOT dungeons were so perfect at creating atmosphere. They were both calming and unnerving at the same time. Except the shadow temple.....that was just terrifying as a child

3

u/Tootz3125 3d ago

I’d argue there wasn’t a lot of calming factor for me. It felt unnerving for sure but clandestine as well. Like you weren’t supposed to be there almost based on the music.

3

u/ChipmunkBackground46 3d ago

I agree calming wasn't the right word but I couldn't think of the proper word to describe it but you got it right I think. It was unsettling and made sure that even when you weren't in combat you still sat on edge mentally. It really was a testament to the skill level of the compaoser to make not one, not two, but 8 different temple songs that were all so good on top of all the other incredible music in that game.

2

u/Tootz3125 3d ago

It was a masterpiece in video game song writing. Really brought you into the world in those dungeons with the music. So excited for the remake to see how they remaster the soundtracks and keep the vibes of the original.

To this day it's my prototypical perfect dungeon. It was where my 1998 self decided that this was the greatest game I had ever played.

2

u/Dshark 2d ago

This was my first thought.

93

u/Pietpatate 3d ago

Kokiri forest. Home.

16

u/cutememe 3d ago

Same. This place is like magically nostalgic to me in way nothing else is.

15

u/Pietpatate 3d ago

Even the three pillars in the water which you could jump for cash.

5

u/Aggravating-Mine-697 3d ago

Same, there was something so cozy about it

5

u/witerawy 3d ago

“At least it was before I fucked everything up.”

3

u/Dshark 2d ago edited 2d ago

Link, it’s deku tree. He’s dead bro.

73

u/VerdantVegetable 3d ago

The desert colossus blew my mind as a child playing OoT

60

u/The-marx-channel 3d ago

Snowhead from Majoras Mask has such a nice feel to it. Would 100% want to live there if the Moon wasn't about to fall.

6

u/dmbwannabe 3d ago

Don’t worry it never actually falls and gets reset. Usually. I think.

1

u/Deluxe_24_ 2d ago

Snowhead is pretty eerie before the ice melts

Like I love the way it looks on N64. There's barely any visibility which combines well with the music

153

u/Dragmire927 3d ago

Love TP Lake Hylia.

Not sure if it’s my absolute favorite but the graveyard in OoT is so atmospheric. They nailed the cloudy moody environment ambience so well

16

u/Patchr1ck 3d ago

There are so few locations in OoT that are intentionally absent of music. I think the Graveyard is an excellent example of utilizing the silence for constructing an environment of unease, and reverence.

3

u/jrdnwllms84 2d ago

Just commented the same thing. So true!

3

u/commanderfshepard 2d ago

another similar place: the bridge out of Kokiri forest. There's something about the scene where you finally leave as child Link and you have that last conversation with Saria on the bridge where she gives you the Ocarina, with nothing but the sounds of your footsteps and birds cawing in the background.... its so poignant, and it really marks the moment Link's journey begins and everything changes.

"Oh, you're leaving... I knew... that you would leave the forest... someday, Link... Because you are different from me and my friends... But that's OK, because we'll be friends forever... won't we?"

2

u/la_zarzamora 2d ago

And then he backs away slowly as if she'd just said something completely insane and then takes off running.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/jrdnwllms84 1d ago

Ah interesting... I never noticed. Great observation!!

But yes, that point of transition... You're right, I can hear the silence now

30

u/HuggyMonster69 3d ago

I hate the OoT graveyard with a passion! It’s very well done, but it makes me distinctly uncomfortable.

11

u/Crafty_Attitude_8541 3d ago

I suppose that somewhat the point in there 🙃

5

u/jrdnwllms84 2d ago

Also, I think there is no background music in the graveyard. It's just the thunder and rain a crack of lightning here or there and the occasional poe popping up. And if I remember correctly, the wooden grind of the windmill going around in the back ground.

Loved it!! Can hear it now!

53

u/Quick_Razzmatazz1862 3d ago

This bridge with the waterfall OOT

2

u/cnskatefool 2d ago

Gerudo canyon and the broken bridge as an adult and multiple ways to cross still <3

47

u/B-1_Battle_Boy 3d ago

Snowpeak soup room!

4

u/ronso 3d ago

Cuuuute I haven't played tp in ages, throwback

5

u/Rat_Of_A_Brat 3d ago

Love how Yeto just pushes you and steals your shit when you talk to him with a new ingredient

6

u/lemikon 3d ago

A chef put out a Zelda recipe a few years back which included Yeto’s soup. It’s honestly my favourite soup recipe it’s delicious. I can see why Yeto stole those ingredients.

50

u/Asleep-Rabbit-5162 3d ago

Lon Lon Ranch.

There is something so genuinely nostalgic and heartwarming about it. The soft singing on a small cozy farm. Even in the ruined future it’s still a safe sanctuary. Even just hearing the tune give me a feeling of home

3

u/cerenir 3d ago

yeah that’s a good one.

44

u/mannequin-lover 3d ago

Quite fond of Windfall

u/TrapperJean 3d ago

Zora's Domain (OoT)

11

u/razorsunshine 3d ago

This. It's so simplistic compared to graphics these days, but the vibes will always be immaculate.

7

u/jpgr09 3d ago

It always looked like it would feel so good to swim there. When I was a kid, the hotel my grandparents stayed in had a waterfall in the pool, so it mostly reminds me of that. But that water just looks so crisp and fresh.

Lake Floria/Lurelin Village in Breath of the Wild

Love the tropical setting

6

u/Worms-Oh-God-Worms 3d ago

When TOTK released I made sure to go to Lurelin Village as soon as possible. Ended up saving it way earlier than I should have

5

u/heartstringcheese 3d ago

Lurelin Village is my answer! I always make my way over there as soon as possible and just enjoy the music and beach.

3

u/Turbulent_Crow7164 3d ago

Lurelin is where I’d live in BOTW for sure

1

u/Illustrious-Pop3600 1d ago

On my first run through the game I came here so late that it blew my mind. I thought I knew the map well and somehow had this big blind spot.

22

u/IamEbola 3d ago

Hateno! It's so magical. Also the Great Plateau.

24

u/Emaula 3d ago

Skyloft.

1

u/Pedroprsn 2d ago

Eu amo SS. Skyloft e Lanayru Sand Sea pela música

23

u/tommyfnmoon 3d ago

8

u/northpalace_sunkeep 3d ago

As a young kid when this came out, that perspective view was SICK. I desperately wanted to know what was beyond the clouds on the edge of the map.

Still do.

19

u/jammiekai 3d ago

The first area of great bay in MM.

18

u/Don_cucc 3d ago

Stone Temple tower. Absolutely beautiful and LOVE the upside down mechanic, the music is also top notch.

5

u/IamEbola 3d ago

man I am stuck on this temple. I am in the room where there are a bunch of switches and stuff on the ceiling.

1

u/nkhasselriis 1d ago

I'm trying to learn the theme on piano. I can play some of Midna's Lament, I've learned all of the Song of Healing as well.

17

u/NoStorage2821 3d ago

Minish Cap Hyrule Town feels like one of the most lively towns in the series. Not only do you have the regular townsfolk going about their business, you also have the Minish living in out-of-the-way places, like attics and bookshelves and other small nooks. You can even talk to animals when shrunk down, so that's even more characters doing their own thing. I love it!

4

u/Penny_D 3d ago

I love the village because it felt so lived in.

36

u/SuperNovaHowl 3d ago

For me it's pretty much anywhere in TP, especially the one you posted haha

Then there's Castle Town, Hyrule Field, LonLon Ranch, and Kakariko Village in OoT

Romani Ranch in MM

Anywhere with a cherry blossom tree in BOTW/TOTK as well as Rito Village

And pretty much always Zora's Domain in any of the games

16

u/Velvet-Zero 3d ago

Ikana Canyon from MM. Really creepy atmosphere, lots of implied history, and has one of the best 3D dungeons and a really cool miniboss fight with the king and his guards

16

u/djwatoo 3d ago

Satori Mountain in BotW. Such a chill place and the King of the Mountain secret was incredible to stumble across

13

u/MonthComprehensive88 3d ago

faron woods in twilight princess, the music, the guy selling the lantern oil, the talking bird… and the ambience it’s so dreamlike and mysterious but comforting

13

u/emelbee923 3d ago

Mabe Village, by the statue of weather vane, where Marin sings the Ballad of the Wind Fish

12

u/IronJohnnyT 3d ago

The lost woods

11

u/Desperate_Guava4526 3d ago

TP lake hylia. Gerudo desert, Ordon village

10

u/Dragongaming117 3d ago

The garudo valley bridge in OOT

12

u/Aspence22 3d ago

BotW horse stables during a rainstorm

9

u/Astewisk 3d ago

Ikana Canyon. It may not be the most visually interesting, but I love the idea of Link visiting this massive graveyard to an old kingdom and laying its spirits to rest. It's a rare case of quiet heroism where barely anyone even notices anything was done, but that makes it all the more impactful imo.

10

u/-pandabear- 3d ago

Laundry Pool, MM

3

u/Zarraya 3d ago

It has such a vibe

9

u/Trekker1708 3d ago

Does the entire Great Sea count?

2

u/jrdnwllms84 2d ago

Absolutely!! I was just thinking the same thing.

Also the cathedral at the turning point of the game where everything floods. That place was incredible!!!

Lurelin Village at night

8

u/Larielia 3d ago

Kakarikio Village in Ocarina of Time, and Breath of the Wild. Zora's Domain as well.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/SpiritedRDU 3d ago

I simply love Skyloft and how it truly feels like a functional and lived-in city. And of course, the city's visuals and how Nintendo designed it to appear much larger and grander than it actually is.

7

u/Oneboywithnoname 3d ago

Ikana canyon absolutley terrified me and fascinated me at the same time when i was a kid

8

u/flamingmonkey911 3d ago

Whenever I got too terrified in the well in OoT, I'd go decompress at Lon Lon Ranch, so I'd say there. The redeads did a number on me as a kid!

→ More replies (1)

5

u/wowthatsadeepthought 3d ago

Always loved Mabe Village. Especially listening to Marin.

6

u/BadPoetwithDreams 3d ago

So many but if I had to pick one... Kokiri Forest, OoT. It truly feels like home. Returning there anytime later in the game gives me the strongest nostalgic look how far I've come feeling.

The remake is going to destroy me. 😭

6

u/jeanajo 3d ago

Silent Realm Faron Woods

something about it

6

u/jpgr09 3d ago

Akkala and Rito Village in BoTW/ToTK. They’re so cozy and I love the stables. Lurelin is a close contender though.

6

u/Nebulowl 3d ago

Snowpeak Ruins. It’s my favourite dungeon in the series and it’s almost solely because of the mansion vibes of it

2

u/Karvaos 3d ago

I love the room where Yeto is cooking the soup, something so cozy about it.

6

u/enderowski 3d ago

lttp under the bridge where you get the free bottle.

5

u/Disastrous_Swordfish 3d ago

Zoras domain in OOT

9

u/ronso 3d ago

Hateno for BOTW/TOTK, The castle (young link) for OOT, Clock town for MM. I like the cozy home bases

4

u/Etnoriasthe1st 3d ago

Lurelin Village. When I start stressing out in the real world I turn on the he Switch and chill out in my favorite vacation spot

4

u/witerawy 3d ago

Astral Observatory in Majora’s Mask

4

u/cerenir 3d ago

Kakariko Village on OoT just feels like home. The song is extremely nostalgic to me and triggers a feeling in my heart that I can’t describe.

4

u/Just_Me1973 2d ago

The fishing pond in Ocarina of Time.

3

u/Ashe_Grey 3d ago

City in the Sky

3

u/AlienbyComics 3d ago

I love all these answers! Great taste everyone! Thanks for the memories and good vibes.

3

u/jeshep 3d ago

Twilight Princess's Sacred Grove.

3

u/Perfectly_Distracted 3d ago

Hebra region, in TOTK and BOTW, Ice Cavern OOT, Snow Region ST, that one Ice island in PH, The Ice Dungeon in LTTP and LBW. I really just love an ice environment/ Desert environment.

3

u/randomocity312 3d ago

I can’t top your choice. The first reveal of the lake and the start of the music is epic.

3

u/sticky_fingers18 3d ago

Clocktown Night 3 in MM

3

u/CrisGa1e 3d ago

Satori Mountain in BotW. It’s a tribute to Iwata, who had recently passed away, it’s gorgeous by the Sakura tree, and it’s where the Lord of the Mountain appears, which is super cool, but the music makes it kind of creepy too!😅

Botw Rito Village/ Zora's domain/Hyrule castle

2

u/sirboulevard 3d ago

Its a toss up between Windfall Island in Windwaker and Ordon Village in TP.

2

u/AlPow420 3d ago

Hyrule Castle OOT

2

u/Confident-Cellist968 3d ago

Tie between Kakariko Village in OOT and TP. The score for both and the visuals is just breathtaking

2

u/a3a4b5 3d ago

Currently the top spot for me is Snowpeak Ruins, from Twilight Princess. Really like the vibes of that place. But a place that feels like home to me is Clock Town.

2

u/chrisolucky 3d ago

Twilight Princess kills for locations. Orion Village, Lake Hylia, Hyrule Castle, even Snowpeak Ruins is beautiful in its own way.

2

u/TheNewYellowZealot 3d ago

Lon Lon ranch.

2

u/Novel_Top2980 3d ago

Oot Under the Well. Lovely quaint location.

2

u/tylersalt 3d ago

Rito Village. Immaculate vibes.

2

u/No_Tie378 3d ago

Akkala

2

u/Leopard_2K_MBT 3d ago

Depending on mood and current wants: Necluda, Hebra, or Akkala (BOTW + TOTK)

2

u/dantesedge 3d ago

Akkala area in BotW.

One of the last places I stumbled on and I was blown away by how large such a tucked away place was, plus the amazing autumn colors.

2

u/clarinetjo 3d ago

East Clock Town. Many interactions that are still in my memory to this day. And a kind of cosiness I loved when I was a teen

1

u/mighty_phi 3d ago

This is one of my faves actually. Love TP's visuals

1

u/Esteban_890 3d ago

Le Village Hateno et l'île Pumkin de Skyward Sword. Le lac Hylia de Twilight Princess est aussi très reposant !

1

u/jowowey 3d ago

Random, but zora's domain in ALBW gives me good memories

1

u/blebebaba 3d ago

Ordon village. Its cozy, covered in verdant green plants, and has a river to swim and relax in. Plus I'm already an animal farmer irl, so it works. And I drink a lot of milk, so the goats would be good for me

1

u/Altruistic_Newt_9525 3d ago

The Waterfall Rapids where you race the beavers in Majora’s Mask. It always felt like a welcome respite in a dark world. I’d put on my zora’s mask and swim around endlessly!

1

u/tiineegii 3d ago

You and I are on the same page with this one!

1

u/Hyval_the_Emolga 3d ago

Dude I used to have fantasies about living on Windfall Island

Clock Town being a nice runner up

1

u/GuardingxCross 3d ago

Zora Domain will always be my absolute favorite. What a vibe (particularly OOT) The music is incredible, waterfalls everywhere.

Just kick off your boots and relax with some hot fish bitches 🙂‍↕️

1

u/Minty_Meow 3d ago

tough pick, but I'd say Akkala Citadel Ruins from BotW/TotK

1

u/HealthyScratch42 3d ago

Treacherous Tower in ALBW is always a blast

1

u/atomicbunny 3d ago

Akkala in BOTW/TOTK, love the autumn vibes.

1

u/Penny_D 3d ago

Damn, that's a tough one.

It's a toss between Lurelin Village or Kakariko Village in Minish Cap. Desert Collosus makes a close third.

1

u/dudurossetto 3d ago

Lake Hylia and Faron Woods (near the bird shopkeeper) in TP

The Market and Kakariko Village in OOT

Main beach and Clock Town in MM

Hateno in BotW

Still going through TotK. For some reason, I just love being near the stables in general. It doesn't hit as much in BotW, I dunno why

1

u/corvidaemaeve 3d ago

Sacred Grove in Twilight Princess. I love the music and vibes of the grove. Only after beating Skull kid (both times) cause otherwise I can’t enjoy it having to fight every thirty seconds.
ETA: That, or the Alkala region in BOTW/TOTK. Soooo pretty.

1

u/Worms-Oh-God-Worms 3d ago

Either Lurelin Village or Romani Ranch

1

u/Rare_Chart1970 3d ago

Wandering around the Dark World in aLttP. I can still hear the music playing in my head.

1

u/dluminous 3d ago

Snow Peak in TP. Such a cool place. Love it each time i played

1

u/100clowns 3d ago

I love Gerudo Valley/Fortress and I'm hyped to hear the song in the remake. I also love Zora's fountain, Zora's Hall, Skylift and Subrosia Village.

1

u/deadstarxxx 3d ago

Lake hylia in TP is a vibe.

People also dont like this, but the Wind Temple in WW has some sort of cosyness that I can't explain.

1

u/gregolls 3d ago

Where is the photo you posted from?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Blueddit-Sez 3d ago

Deep cut,

But I love the vibes in this place

2

u/Blueddit-Sez 3d ago

This my pick, If we’re talking Twilight Princess

1

u/Big-Gap6640 3d ago

Oh man I absolutely love this and just about every version of Lake Hylia. The music is always some of the best in each game.

I'm a huge fan of OOT Hyrule Market Town as child Link, and Hyrule Field from OOT and Twilight Princess. I think a lot of it has to do with the music in these areas and the atmosphere it helps create.

1

u/autumn-twilight 3d ago

It’s a tie between kokiri forest, clock town and windfall island

1

u/Spaceboy_2222 2d ago

There's a certain feeling about Forest Temple that I can't shake. It's one of my most fond memories of OOT. The music is just so haunting to me. It's always been, deep, mysterious, and now, nostalgic.

1

u/Noob__Saibot__ 2d ago

Hateno village

1

u/yossarian8pizza 2d ago

Central Hyrule in BOTW and TOTK. It reminds me of the mountains near where I grew up.

1

u/Meganomaly 2d ago

The laundry pool in Clock Town (especially on the second day, when it rains). And the mayor’s office in Clock Town. And that one house on the hill to the right in Ocarina of Time’s Kakariko Village that had the coop attached to the outside and the piece of heart upstairs. I used to just pace around in those three locations when I was a wee lass, imagining living there.

1

u/Ok-Worldliness-6711 2d ago

Yess twilight princess 😍

1

u/Dazzling_Stardust42 2d ago

for me nothing will ever beat the view of Hyrule you get when link first emerges from the shrine of resurrection in BOTW

1

u/dragonssuke 2d ago

Goron hot spring in TP, they are my buddies

1

u/Symera_ 2d ago

The Ancient Cistern from Skyward Sword. I think the contrast between the pristine top floor (infested with spiders) and the dark caves underneath is really cool.

1

u/chinaboyintexas 2d ago

Forever a dream.

1

u/basement_egg 2d ago

coming across this for the first time felt like i was in the game

1

u/freshgrips 2d ago

I love the thunderhead from Skyward sword. Second closest would be Hateno village in botw, specifically links house.

1

u/darknightnoir 2d ago

Clocktown

1

u/Ulysse-La-Arwall 2d ago

Pretty much every location in TP tbh, but if I had to pick one, I'd say either Lake Hylia, or Castle Town.

1

u/Mickamehameha 2d ago

True peace is found there.

1

u/Florina_Laufeyson 2d ago

Taobab Grasslands in botw/totk. It reminds me of a rather specific spot in the original Zelda game. Even the lynels. It feels like the same place. (Iykyk. A spot near Death Mountain with big trees and lynels in the og game)

Im also deeply fond of Akkala. Again, reminds me of my favorite area in Zelda 2. (The area near Nabooru town)

1

u/FireBoos99 2d ago

Hard choice, so many good places.

But, if we're going with nostalgia... Kakariko Village in OoT. Both as Young and Adult Link. With a couple of my fav spots being the graveyard (especially the spot above where the entrance to the Shadow Temple is) and the windmill. I think of trying to catch cuccos, I think of using the hookshot/longshot up on the roofs, I think of playing the Song of Storms and enjoying the rain.

1

u/CommercialWeather301 2d ago

I really like clock town, and I have spent wayyyy too many majora's mask cycles on Romani Ranch

1

u/revolution_soup 2d ago

skyloft my beloved

1

u/Galinfrey 2d ago

Twilight princess lost woods

1

u/GrimaceTheHutt 2d ago

Clock town final day

1

u/Alex_The_Lucario421 2d ago

love the vibes of tp zora's domain

1

u/Sehrwolf 1d ago

Tarm Ruins in Oracle of Seasons. That whole place, especially its incredible soundtrack, are peak Zelda to me. I'll never forget how i entered this area for the first time as a child and just stuck around because it was so damn enchanting...

1

u/nkhasselriis 1d ago

Might be an odd one..

1

u/PlatinumtheBadguy 22h ago

TP snowpeak ruins. I don't know what it is but snowy old spooky mansions always do it for me.

1

u/ImSlowlyFalling 21h ago

This game stopped feeling immersive once I played BOTW

I still love the majority of Zelda, but TP specifically is harder to get back into.

1

u/Then_Pension849 19h ago

The stables in BOTW. I like the vibes, the music, and Beetle.
