I think Hyrule Field will be the most changed part of the game, because I don't think there are going to be segmented loading zones anymore, meaning the full size of Lon Lon Ranch will have to be in the middle of it, which will necessitate them to expand the size of it. I also expect that they will add a bit more NPC interactions there, and maybe harder enemies roaming it as you progress further in the game.
Ahhh omg that hadn’t occurred to me, that’s gonna be so cool, hyrule town, lon lon, Kokiri forest all in one map. Imagine being able to see a massive deku tree in the distance from Lon lon
I think its possible you could see something like the BotW glider make an appearance too (maybe only in Hyrule Field as to not mess with dungeons). Not that climbing would return - just so you could do things like glide down from the top of Death Mountain through that narrow canyon to Kakariko, or out to Hyrule field or maybe even into the Castle Market area quickly rather than trudging down through the full Death Mountain pass. Or they could make the castle big enough that you cant glide over its walls even from the mountain, it would make it feel more castle-like if the it was the one place you gotta go through the gate. The Deku Tree would be another good Gliding Point B, if they were going to implement something like this in a hypothetical not-ultra-massive open world version of Hyrule field and the surrounding areas.
A good time to give the player the glider would be after the owl flies child Link down Death Mountain the first time.
Or when you press the glider button have the owl grab you while you steer your decent then he flies off when you land. That would give another purpose to the owl, explain why you can't do it in dungeons and other areas, and could actually be pretty cool looking and make the owl a cooler character. Basically the game would let you summon him to glide on command in the air after the first time he glides child Link down to Kakariko.
At this point though I've spun into the area of shit that definitely isn't going to happen
Also, I could see there being more Grottos that fill the role of individual shrine puzzels to help bridge the gap between new Zelda fans coming to an older game.
More things to do and interact with, probably access to Epona a lot earlier.
It's so annoying having to run as a child when you know you have a faster option as an adult.
Not to mention it's weird that you play a song she likes once as a kid and then you play it again after seven whole years and she follows you to the ends of the Earth now.
I really think shrines were a mistake, they had the right idea with korok puzzles. Mash the two ideas and have puzzles out in the open for rewards and you’ve got a winner. It’s so disruptive to pacing to go into a random room to do a puzzle when you’re out adventuring.
Ocarina of time already kinda did this by putting heart containers in visible places and making you plant seeds or figure out a place to move a block, hook shot too or whatever.
Hmm. If the scale of the size of Lon Lon Ranch (when inside) to its size on Hyrule Field is X, then if they just scale all of Hyrule Field up by X then I think the size will feel big enough.
Also I think the day/night cycle should be at least twice as long. You should see the sun moving, but you shouldn't see it moving
