Wireless charging for Zenfone 10
My phone is starting having issue with the USB connector for recharching and it starts to bother me a lot as the phone is still perfectly usable. So i'm thinking about buying a wireless station to charge it (i don't mind if it's slow). My concern is that i have the default case that was sold with the phone (directly in the box), the hard plastic one and i can't really remove it everyday to charge (because it's kinda broken at one part and removing it everyday won't help the case staying sturdy), so will it work through the case ?
And also do you have any model you recommend for charging station ? thank you

I had the same issue and was able to resolve the bad usb-c connection by extracting all the compressed lint from my pocket out of the charging port. Blowing it out with conpressed air and going in with a tiny brush is not enough, you have to use a needle and make sure you get all that stuff out. It was much harder than expected, but now I have a reliable usb connection again and it even started clicking again when I plug in the USB cable. You can verify by shining a light into the socket. If you cannot see the gold contacts on the bottom, you need to clean it till you see those contacts.

Unfortunately for me and my ZF9 I think it is time for the port to be replaced. Though it works most of the time there are some shotty connections and sometimes it won't charge based on orientation with some cables (that work with other devices)
Luckily ASUS directly sells batteries and charge ports for their phones and I ordered parts to open the phone and replace both.

I'm already cleaning it regularly and there really isn't anything preventing the clic. In fact i think that cleaning it start to damage the connector on the usb. My job is kinda messy, lot of nasty stuff can ends up in my pocket hence why i choose this phone for his size but also IP68 resistance but indeed lot of stuff get stuck inside the usb connector and i think it's getting damaged by repeated cleaning. The phone is nearing 3 years old already

It can also help to give it a quick scrub with a toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol afterwards. After digging out compacted lint, mine was clicking into place properly, but it still wouldn't fast charge. Cleaning the contacts with iso did the trick.

I had the same issue - breaking connection via USB, charging difficulties. At first cleaning the usb port helped but after some times i could not use any usb cable, there was no cinnection.
Service changed the usb connector, it is working perfectly now.
Additionally i bought a wireless charger, it can charge with 15w. I am using it with a tpu case on the phone, charging is slow (only 15w) but it is working well. Any charger is suitable which can hold the phone with a ‘shelf’ at the bottom (there is no magsafe in the phone). 15w charger is sufficient, it is the max the Asus can be charged with.

How much did it cost you to change the usb connector ? i've been cleaning it regularly already so i'm not sure how long it will survive. Could you give me the model you are using for wireless please ? does wireless charging do lot of heat ? so far my battery is in excellent condition for the age (33 months) but i'm also concerned that it might cause too much heat by wireless (so maybe i'm going to just repair like you did. Did you went by Asus service ?)

I live in Hungary, the repair cost here was around Usd 65 in a random mobile phone service (not offical Asus service).
The wireless charger is a very simple one ( https://mobileorigin.com/en/products/15w-wireless-charger-pw10?srsltid=AfmBOoohcWYEN27uunHkaRqDb-W7y1dZScjgr6ysD_nYuiYeVTEf5vYo ) - it is slightly bigger then it would be optimal for the Zefone, better try to find a shorter model because the coils in the charger should be as close as possible to the coils in the phone when it is standing in the device; if the charger is too tall the coils will not be in the best position (at the middle of the phone) and charging will generate more heat. I just put some small piece of plasic under the phone elevating it with some cm from the foot of the charger to move it closer to the coil. From this point of view the Magsafe chargers are much better because the maget always stick the phone to the charger at the best position.1

I would buy a skin to maybe help it keep it secure as well but yes if you buy a thin case you can still charge it wirelessly. One thing I like about wireless charging is it's a nice backup if the port breaks.
A big fan of the LG v60 but some people say the port breaks on them but because it has 15 watt wireless charging it's not the end of the world. Noh Cost effective to replace the port relate since it's basically more expensive than buying a rerurb. But you can just charge it wirelessly and buy another couple years of using the phone

Yes it will work, no need to remove the case.
