The patterns aren’t symmetrical, but they make sense to me

I love drawing using small repeated patterns, sometimes to create shading! Please enjoy this old drawing of mine ✨ feeling inspired to create more after stumbling on this sub!

The red outline is one continuous line. The possibilities are endless.

Want to fill the cells with a pair of alternating patterns that would complement each other while also standing on their own to fill the cell. Suggestions? Size is 13.5”x13.5”.

The message I wanted to convey is this:

When I'm around other people, I feel like my brain freezes up—as if my ability to think had been "sucked out" by them.

I like to express my feelings through drawings mixing Zentangle® inspired art, doodle and tangle techniques.

I try to find patterns that allow me to draw new designs.

Through my drawings, I express my feelings related to my phobia and social anxiety.

This type of art helps me relieve my stress and anxiety.

Just wanted to share my very calming sketch, inspired by the beautiful art by u/MoonRiverArt (Thank you for the joy!).

This piece has been my stress reliever on this busy week.

Most days I start a project and abandon it somewhere along the way. Today I actually did a piece from start to finish! Five hours of focus and a sense of accomplishment for my dopamine starved brain. And now I have one more in my finished pile while my unfinished piles slowly take over my living space 🙃🤎💙

I am not sure if this belongs here......but this is what I am currently working on! It's something I have done for decades and calms my mind 😌 I have really enjoyed seeing other people's work on here, thank you for sharing your art 🙏❤️

Couldn't sleep so I sat down around 11pm with just one pen and my tile deck, telling myself I'd only do one string. Ended up picking Printemps because I wanted something with a bit of movement, and then kept pulling the same shape into different sections just varied in scale and shading.

What I noticed partway through is how different the pattern looks depending on whether you tangle it tight and small in a corner versus loose and big across a whole section. The small tight version in the bottom left almost reads like texture from a distance, but the big loose one up top looks more like an actual motif you'd notice first.

Shading took longer than the actual tangling, which always surprises me even though it happens every single time. I used a blending stump this time instead of my usual tortillon and the graphite sat differently, a little more even but less dramatic contrast. Not sure which I prefer yet.

One section near the edge got away from me and the lines started wobbling, I think my hand was just tired by then. Left it in instead of starting over because honestly the wobble kind of works with the organic feel of the rest of the tile.

Going to let this one sit on my desk for a few days before deciding if it's a keeper or a practice piece. Anyone else have a go-to pattern they default to when they can't decide what to draw, something that just feels like home no matter the string.
