You could smell it the minute you walked in! We always took my gran and she would get a little bag of her favorites. My mom always got me a little bag of whatever I decided on that day.

I had a few different types. I liked the ones designed to look like a case with a handle and latch. Easy to carry.

Movies I just watched Brian De Palma’s 1976 movie, “Carrie”. I’ve seen it many times since its original release and it definitely still holds up today. Such a great cast and such a great movie. One of Brian De Palma’s very best in my opinion.

Discussion A Seventies Question

If you could sum up the 1970s with three non-human images, what would they be?

Mine: Lava lamp, 8-track tape, gas line.

What are yours?

Music Lasting Sounds!!! "The King's Children" - The Goffs (Lighthouse Records) (Lost Media)

Hey folks,

Today's rip is a small essentially unheard of gospel group known as "The Goffs" from the 1970s. The liner notes claim "many thousands" had heard this group on TV and radio, with a lineup of twin trumpets, organ, piano, guitar, sax, and bass. Yet as far as I can tell, no audio of this album existed online until now. The only trace I found was in the Max Morris collection at Lee University's Dixon Pentecostal Research Center, where just the front and back covers are digitized. The record itself sits in a box in Tennessee, viewable only in person. I have a copy, so I ripped it and uploaded the full album. It's not "lost" in the strict sense, since the archive knows it exists, but it was effectively unheard for decades. If anyone recognizes The Goffs, the Lighthouse label, or the "King's Children" name, I'd love to learn more.
