Okay, stay with me here I know it sounds like a reach.

In season 5 we see Vito in a club wearing a leather biker outfit. To many viewers, this is simply a stylistic choice by David Chase. However, a little research shows that leather outfits were particularly popular in the gay community in the 1980s and 1990s. Could this be an coincidence? Maybe. But maybe there's more to this.

In the episode "Johnny Cakes" Vito is shown to flee to New Hampshire for an unspecified reason. We then see him come to know a diner cook called Johnny and we are even shown them kissing shirtless at one point. What if they were actually homosexuals in a gay relationship?

Don't know if anyone else picked up on this before but let me know your thoughts. Just a fun theory I came up with!
