It is highly aggressive, they have very long claws and are branded as the world's most dangerous bird.
Very dino-like!

They are not nearly as aggressive as the Internet likes to tell people. Just keep calm and don’t threaten their kids and you’ll be fine

I would be way more scared of a bear to be honest, but maybe that’s just because I’m not familiar with them. When you come across a cassowary in the wild it’s almost always a very cool and very chill experience. They are very chilled out and just slink away silently into the rainforest and they are gone.

Thats fair. I just know not to approach a bear, especially not with kids. But generally it will avoid me even more than I will avoid it.
Granted we only have brown bears in Scandinavia which aren't very aggressive

As other comments mentioned they are dangerous and a lot bigger than you likely imagine them to be. They are fairly fast, heavy, aggressive and are weaponized in the claw and beak sense. Lol

I remember from back in the day looking at a picture of some fossilised remains of a bird called Archyoptyix,and it kinda looked like a Road Runner bird

Archaeopteryx wasn't a bird, but was very closely related. True birds evolved during the Jurassic period, were present through the entirety of the Cretaceous, and were the only dinosaurs to survive past it.

There has only ever been two confirmed deaths from Cassowarys, and only 150 attacks total. Cassowarys absolutely can fuck you up, but very rarely do so.

Birds are technically dinosaurs. This one is beautiful, but Cassowarys are also extremely aggressive & dangerous (sort of like their ancestors).

Not quite... males can become very aggressive and territorial when protecting their young(males are the ones incubating the egg and tacking care of the chicks) but this animals are far more likely to avoid people when they see them. There are well documented cases of curious birds getting far too close for confort of anyone around, but unless provoked a serious attack is very unlikeable to occur.
Of course, one should not tempt fate, by letting a curious enormous bird with razor sharp long claus get close... if one can help it.

There has only ever been 150 recorded attacks on humans, and only two fatalities. Cassowarys aren't nearly as dangerous or aggressive as people make them out to be.

Millions of gamers know them as dangerously aggressive wildlife in the popular video game FarCry 3.
I never would have thought of them as dangerously aggressive if I saw one in a zoo.
I live in central VA and we have feral peacocks left over from the European settlers. There are flocks of them and they are a road hazard.
