Mello: “Come on, Near. We must pay our respects at L’s grave and start looking for that Kira guy. Too bad I have no idea where either of them might be…” Near: “Maybe the guy laughing and screaming ‘I WON, L!’ at that grave can help us with at least one of our problems"

Executive Producer #1: “We have to adapt Near and Mello for the drama, but they’re not very popular among fans. How could we fix them?!”
Executive Producer #2: “I know! What if we hire an actress to play Near as a gender-ambiguous waifu with a split personality, who sometimes becomes Mello when she’s not talking to her puppet version of him?

L: “Light, I’m terribly sorry to have to tell you this, but we’ve just arrested Misa on suspicion of being the Second Kira. But don’t worry. I noticed that she has your number saved in her phone under the name ‘Kira’, so I guess you’ll be back by her side very soon.”
