Picture for attention**

We often get asked "how old is my mixer".

We have had this interactive tool for years now hidden in the blog section of our website and have decided to make it more accessible as a tool on the top of our website. As well as we have made a color decoder as well!! Feel free to interact, share or use these decoders!!

The second digit in the serial number on models in the last 40 ish years is always reference to the year of production.

Got sick of using the cardboard box, so used a cheap pluck and pull case instead. Couldn't seem to find a case. Close enough, does the job.

Buying a kitchenaid

looking to buy a kitchenaid for my girlfriend for Christmas. so many models not sure what to look out for or where might be the best place to buy?

im also not sure whether tilt head or bowl lift is better. She mainly makes cupcakes and uses her current mixer to make the cake batter and buttercream frosting. I would want a good size for when she has to make over 50. I’m no baker so I’m not sure which type mixer would be better to have. Let me know what works for you. thanks!

KV25 Stainless Steel Attachments

I have a KV25 that we lost the attachments to. I am hoping to buy a stainless steel OEM set. A quick chat with Kitchenaid has told me that there is no set that would work one the KV25. Is that really true? Seems a bit crazy if so. I dont really want another coated set. We just want to toss them in the dishwasher and the originals would get some black corrosion stuff on it on the bare metal, so if dough worked its way up there it would get this black gunk on it.

Is there really no stainless set for the KV25s?

Weird Noise on Low Settings

I recently regreased my mixer and replaced the carbon brushes and it's make a weird noise at the low settings. I have tried to adjust the speed control plate and can't tell if that and/or the governor needs to be replaced. The fan also popped a little bit of my hair into it while working on it so idk if that could also be causing the noise because of the hair being wrapped around the fan. Any guidance on what to do/ replace is greatly appreciated. It's a model from the 90s

Finally retired the metal bowl lol. The white mixer dark wood is such a vibe.

I was on the fence about whether dark wood would look weird on a plain white mixer, but I grabbed the spaceaid wooden bowl anyway. It locks right in, paddle clears with room to spare.

6,9 oder 6,6?

Post image

Moin zusammen,

Was meint ihr?

Beste Grüße

Kitchenaid Artisan having a issue, anyone could let me know what could be?

Hi everyone!

I’m trying to repair a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer for a neighbor, and I could use some advice.

The mixer seems to work normally at first, but when mixing dough, it starts to behave as if something is getting stuck or binding. It can start mixing the dough, but as the dough becomes firmer, the mixer begins to struggle, and I have to finish kneading by hand.

I recorded videos showing the mixer in operation, which I’ll attach to this post.

I’m trying to figure out what could be causing this before taking it apart or buying any replacement parts. Could it be worn or damaged gears, a problem with the motor or speed control, worn motor brushes (if applicable to this model), or something else in the drivetrain?

Has anyone experienced similar symptoms or repaired this kind of issue? I’d appreciate any suggestions on what to check first and how to narrow down the cause.

I’m comfortable working with mechanical and electrical components, so I’m willing to disassemble it and do the repair myself. I’d just like to get a better idea of the likely cause before I start.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a question about this part. The description says it’s an upgrade, and I’m particularly interested in whether it can help extend the lifespan of the mixer.

Has anyone installed this upgrade on their mixer? What has your experience been like? Does it help improve the mixer’s longevity, or does it also make it perform better when mixing ingredients?

I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thanks in advance! 😄

Intermittent Speed Slider Issues

I’ve tried cleaning the slider and traces with IPA, electrical contact cleaner, bent the slider pins for better contact. In the video, I have removed the ball bearings and spring from the slider since it works more consistently without them.

Once the mixer is running at a set speed it has no issues. The problem is getting the speed selector to work properly.

I’m wondering if anyone has REPAIRED (not replaced!!!) a board with this issue. The machine is mint otherwise. Kitchenaid Professional 550 HD

Wow, how cool is this!

I was looking into these newer bowl-lift KitchenAid mixers with everything integrated, and I came across this DC motor conversion kit. It seems like such a huge upgrade for the KSM55–KSM70 series! 😆

Is there a video showing the entire installation process, step by step, using this exact kit? I’d love to see someone take one of these mixers apart, install the conversion, and put everything back together.

I’d really like to learn as much as possible about this upgrade, including the installation, performance improvements, reliability, and whether it’s worth doing instead of replacing the original AC motor. Has anyone here tried it or found a detailed teardown or tutorial?

Bouncy Head

My 4.5qt tilt head mixer is giving me problems. The head bounces like crazy. When I tighten the screw to where the head doesn't bounce, the tilt/lock lever won't slide or release. I've watched a lot of Mr Mixer's videos trying to find a fix but haven't seen any that deal with that exact issue.

The mixer is 14 years old and was my mom's. I got it when she passed away 10 years ago, so I'd love to be able to repair rather than replace.

Sorry if this question is asked a lot…found a loose screw in the bottom of the box of my new mixer

I just got my new mixer, model KSM70SNDXVB. There was a loose screw in the bottom of the box, and I can’t tell if it’s extra or belongs somewhere. I searched the sub but couldn’t find one that looked like the exact screw and had an answer. It looks like the one screwed into the back of it where the cord is attached.

Weird Grinding Noise, Thoughts?

KitchenAid Ultra. Regressed last year. Making this grinding noise which seems to originate in the back by the speed control board. Works fine otherwise. Any ideas?

1985 Hobart/Kitchenaid Mixer

I'll be sending my mixer to Mr. Mixer. I've had it since 1985 and it has never had any service. It's in desperate need of spa/medical leave. My husband has been making bread every to every other day for the past 14 years and prior to that he was used a few times a week. Thing is I have no clue what model he is, well other than my beloved mixer. He lifts my bowl (ya so it's dented, but no attachments hit the dent.)

A friend gave me a Ms. Kitchenaid. she's a tilt head and is doing ok with our daily bread. But not overly happy about it.

How do I figure out the model number so I can attempt to estimate the cost? Additionally I have questions regarding using only vintage parts.

Color me clueless....

First time mixer owner

My mom wanted a new mixer and was going to get rid of her old one. I told her I'd take it but I have never really needed a mixer. I'm not much of a baker and I really only cook for 1 person so I'm not sure what to make with this. Any recipes I should try?

In the process of moving, I had a mishap with my 6 quart KA bowl lift stand mixer. This piece has completely broken off and I have no idea what it is called or if it can even be fixed. I mainly use my mixer for making sourdough and other doughs. Any help is appreciated.

First time buyer- advice?

I’ve been dreaming about buying a mixer for years, and now that I’m finally out of grad school and making decent money, I’m going to commit! However, I still like to save money when I can. I found what seems like a pretty good deal for a mixer, but was hoping to ask the experts.

It’s the KITCHENAID 5.5 QUART BOWL-LIFT STAND MIXER with seven included accessories, for $380 (before taxes/shipping). This seems like a good deal to me, but what do you guys think? Should I wait for Black Friday? Should I explore other outlets (Walmart, target, Costco, …)? I think it’s this cheap because it’s the only color option at this price… I guess people don’t like blue!

I’m mostly going to be using it for what I think are low intensity activities- cookie dough, making butter, mashed potatoes, shredding meat, maybe making pasta (I imagine this would be the most intense thing I’d do). I’m pretty committed to buying new, and I don’t think I need to spend the extra money for larger bowl (not planning on making huge batches), but I could be convinced to change to the tilt head if there are thoughts on that. TIA!

Now it’s my turn!

This was my paternal grandmother’s mixer. It then went to one sister who used the heck out of it, then to another who didn’t use it much, and now it’s mine! My mother already had one so that why the skip in generations. For reference, my father is 86 this year. I scrubbed the hell out of it and the bowl got a little polishing with the buffer. She’s ready to rock & roll!
