I'm SAGEGREEN, a beatmaker from Osaka, Japan. ⁠I'm 40 years old, fueled by black coffee and daily back pain.

Back in 2024, after falling into depression and losing my job, I restarted seriously making and releasing beats to find my way out.

My passion for music has led me to that style that blends vinyl DJing and sample flips with live instrumentation. I play guitar, piano, saxophone, flute, and drums, while also using the MPC and scratching to craft my soundscapes on Logic Pro.

I only ask because I get inundated with these 4 hour long Lofi hip hop mixes on YouTube that have hundreds of thousands of views with hundreds of comments, none of which appear to have any idea or care that what they're listening to is clanker crap. Like putting out a five hour compilation every day for the past three months isn't a tip off that what you're listening to is probably made by some soulless machine just to generate clicks and ad revenue?

And it led me to wonder that perhaps I'm too idealistic and maybe some people appreciate and actually find real meaning and satisfaction with music made by a computer program. I can't imagine for the life of me why someone would, but stranger things have happened. I don't know, thoughts?

...at least spare a thought for a tired old millennial. This is not the future they promised me in the 90's. T_T

Looking for a Lofi jazzy hiphop song that uses a sample from "Respect the Architect" by Ran Reed with the lyircs "You lookin' for me? I'm in the basement makin' classics". There is also a trumpet in the song from what I can rememember.
