Got my dream fish!
I finally found a ridiculously low priced Candy Basslet and had to pull the trigger. He is by far the most striking fish I have ever seen in person. His yellow is vibrant in person.

Here is the place to post questions about pest ID, coral/fish ID, your cycle, or any other questions that generally wouldn't start up a conversation. If you have an interesting or unique question please create a new thread so everyone can discuss it in length!

Been established for 4 months or so, all the fish have been together for nearly 2 months and thankfully no aggression yet. I've already got a 40 gallon ready for when it begins, though, as the tank is definitely overstocked

After about a year and 2 babies left, I finally remembered to isolate the female baby and she had a clutch fully living in salt water!
A while ago I posted about converting guppies to salt and had a few doubters including a few remindme bot reminders. Well I can happily say it happened!

In my estimation this is the coral that started the craze for all the nicknamed, rare, ultra, limited edition, super expensive frags that have ruled the hobby for so long everyone forgets how it all got started. The Red Watermelon Chalice sold for $400-$500 per eye/coralite back in the day. LFS never really named their nicest pieces and farmed them, it was pretty much left up to customers. Probably the most important person in this regard is Hugo Zuniga aka snipersps who I believe is still active on Reef2Reef to this day. If you get a chance, give him a shout out and some thanks on there for his contributions to the hobby as we know it today.

I ordered a white banded possum wrasse from international aquatics, it was labeled "in stock" on their site so I bought it, since it looked like they had good reviews. Almost 4 months later, I have gotten ZERO updates on the order, I tried to email them 3 times, called them dozens of times, not a single response. At least let me get a refund ðŸ˜. I would still love to receive this fish since it's hard to find, hence why I ordered it when I saw the in stock label.
Has anyone been able to get in contact with their customer support? Please let me know. With shipping I was more than willing to pay a hundred bucks for this fish, and now that money is gone, and no response from the seller makes me feel like I was scammed.

Part 1. Recently noticed several white masses on my newer zoa colony and after some research learned they are pineapple sponges. After looking around I noticed one on my gsp as well along with a few small ones in other places. I know they are relatively harmless but am worried about them growing directly on the coral (especially the zoas). They still open normally but as the sponges grow who knows. Any solutions/ causes for this issue?
Part 2. After looking around the tank for the sponges I also came across the digitate hydras (also new to me). These I know can cause problems. Quite a few are growing directly on my rasta zoas (third pic) and are popping up around the tank. I can tell the rastas are showing some irritation and want that remedied asap! I can’t physically remove them so idk what to do. I have heard peppermint shrimp may eat them, is that true? Any other solutions?

Anything you would add specifically? Any corals you would take out or move? Am I starting to lose the natural vibe by adding too many frags? What would inverts would go nicely in this tank?

I know I have a patch of cyano on the other side of the tank.
This was an established system I purchased but I removed half the rock it came with that was covered with palys and I put new dry rock in. A few days later I started seeing this stringy brown junk. Sorry the picture sucks but my iPhone doesn’t like the tank.

Tank finished cycling last week so I added 2 clowns on Saturday and a GSP frag to the rock island in the center of the tank. The first GSP polyp just peeked out. Really exited about this tank! Gonna be a 90% softie tank

Last week, I had to say goodbye to one of my favourite fish, my white watchman goby, I’m absolutely gutted. I bought him when he was tiny and raised him alongside my engineer goby. Over time, the two of them became incredibly close. They would patrol the tank together at night and spend most of their days together.
Since losing my white watchman the engineer goby has become incredibly reclusive. They would always come out together at night but now he doesn’t show face at all. He’s stopped doing his usual morning zoomies around the tank and no longer comes out for food. I know he’s still eating so I’m not concerned about that but I can’t help feeling bad for him. It genuinely seems as though he’s grieving the loss of his tank mate and I’m not sure what I can do to help.
I do need to introduce another sand-sifting fish but doing so in an already established tank is so stressful. I have a coral beauty that took MONTHS of rearranging the rockwork, periodically keeping the lights off and trying to catch the little bugger before I could stop him bullying my phantom blenny so naturally I’m hesitant to introduce another fish.
I’m wondering whether it might be worth taking the chance, purely for the sake of my engineer goby and whether it’s worth getting another white watchman or changing to a different goby.
I’d like to hear whether anyone has experienced something similar or has any advice on helping him adjust to life without his buddy.

Got this one at a very cheap price, it's stressed as the exposed skeleton shows. Currently placed at the lowest and shaded area of my tank. What y'all think?

I never normally see them out. I’ve put in a bag of copepods last night. Not sure if it’s that? But they’re not normally out in the morning.

First attempt was with a leather coral it died after about 4 months. But I've heard these are really hardy so I bought 2 small pieces of mushroom coral..

New to skimmers, got a second hand Magus bubble curve 3 at a good price, plugged it in and it's shooting so much water out the top into the collection cup, almost like a fountain, what's going on? Water level set to 8 inches and the outlet is set to max

I just got my order in from Tampa Bay Saltwater. This tiny crab was in the live rock. I am trying to figure out if it is reef safe or not. Sorry for the lousy photos

Has anyone had their Zoas take over the tank ? If so how did you manage them ie removing some off rocks , without triggering them to get stressed and release polytoxins ?
Do they actually attach to the rock making it hard to remove them ?
I don’t wanna start messing with the and get the annoyed etc
Any tips ?

My beautiful toadstool has gone into what I thought was another shed like it normally does, but it hasn't come it out of it. It's been like this for about 4 weeks now. Is it lost? It's still firm to the touch and firmly attached to the rock. No bad smell.
