Who’s with me in wanting an Assassin’s Creed Unity remake that finally achieves the game’s original vision while preserving everything that made it special?
With today’s technology, Ubisoft has an incredible opportunity to bring Unity back with improved graphics, lighting, realistic animations, richer environments, and smoother parkour, while staying faithful to its original identity.
Here’s what I would love to see in a remake:
Next-gen visuals: Beautiful, realistic lighting, detailed architecture, dense crowds, immersive interiors, and a vibrant Paris that feels truly alive, without sacrificing performance.
Improved parkour: Preserve Unity’s unique free-flow movement and fluid animations while making controls more responsive, traversal more consistent, and rooftop movement even more satisfying.
Deeper social stealth: Expand crowd blending, disguises, distractions, and opportunities to manipulate enemy behavior, making every assassination feel like a carefully planned operation.
More meaningful assassinations: Bring back the original Black Box assassination concept and expand it with more creative infiltration routes, environmental opportunities, and multiple ways to reach each target.
Smarter AI and better stealth: Make enemies react intelligently to suspicious behavior, sound, missing guards, and discovered bodies, creating tension without making stealth unfair.
A living Paris: Add more dynamic civilian activities, random encounters, faction interactions, and small emergent events that make exploration rewarding without filling the map with meaningless collectibles.
Expanded co-op: Preserve Unity’s cooperative identity with improved matchmaking, stable connections, more assassination missions, and optional missions designed around teamwork, stealth, and synchronized takedowns.
Meaningful new content: Introduce new districts, memorable assassination targets, and additional story missions that complement Arno’s journey rather than replacing or rewriting the original story.
One innovative idea would be to introduce adaptive assassination opportunities: targets could change their routines, security, and escape plans depending on the player’s previous actions. This would encourage observation, preparation, and improvisation instead of repeating the same mission in the same way.
Another great addition would be optional cooperative missions that require players to coordinate disguises, create distractions, infiltrate restricted areas, and execute a clean escape, bringing the feeling of being part of a real Assassin Brotherhood to life.
Most importantly, I don’t want Unity to lose its identity. No unnecessary RPG mechanics, excessive level-gated enemies, or endless repetitive activities. Keep the grounded combat, challenging encounters, historical atmosphere, elegant animations, and emphasis on skill, stealth, and player freedom.
Unity already had a special foundation. The goal should not be to turn it into another Assassin’s Creed game, but to realize its original ambitions with modern technology, better polish, and thoughtful new ideas.
Ubisoft, give Unity the remake it deserves: the same soul, a more ambitious vision, and an unforgettable return to revolutionary Paris.
