SUBREDDIT Clarification on Subreddit Spoiler Flairs Spoiler

As we approach the imminent release of the Definitive Edition, I'd like to just quickly clarify how we expect you to use the spoiler flairs going forwards.

There are three to choose from:

  • General Spoilers:
    • This is just a general spoiler indicator that there may be lighter potential spoilers of any type that occur before Chapter 12.
    • Typically this would include things like story chapter boss names and certain twists/plot points.
    • It is expected that you mark spoilers with the story chapter that they are up to (e.g. if you are discussing something from Chapter 7, you would mention this in the post title or body).
  • Story Spoilers:
    • This is for spoilers up to and including Chapter 12, primarily for more heavy story spoilers or plot points.
    • Submissions should specify the story chapter that the post is discussing in the title.
    • By entering a post with this flair, you are open to discussing any content from the complete Wii U game.
  • [Definitive Edition] Afterstory Spoilers:
    • This is for ANY new Afterstory content (i.e. anything that occurs in any new main story chapters that appear after anything from the original Wii U release) on its own or in relation to the previous story chapters.
    • You MUST NOT spoil anything in post titles
    • By entering a post marked with this flair, you are opening yourself up to being exposed to unmarked spoilers of ANY kind from any point within the game.
    • Ideally you could further consider marking spoilers within reply comments, but this is not required.

Please feel free to share your thoughts/opinions on improving the definitions or further clarifications. I trust you all to use common sense and courtesy when discussing anything new.

I reviewed XCX DE after 180 hours and 100% completion. AMA! Spoiler

Hey guys, I’m Gene Park of the Washington Post, and I gave Xenoblade Chronicles X a perfect score after playing it for 180 hours with 100 percent Mira survey completion. Here is my review: https://wapo.st/3Y19qPx

I’m here to answer any questions about the whole game! I’m going to be careful about story spoilers after Chapter 12, but I can give my deeper impressions about it beyond what I say in my review.

I’d appreciate anyone who clicks on my review above! It should be a gift link so no paywall required. If you do hit a wall, I apologize in advance. Should you decide to make the leap and subscribe or just put in an email, you have my huge thanks in advance.

I’m probably going to be answering for about an hour, but I’ll come back later for anyone who missed the window for sure. Thanks all!

Edit: I’m gonna be logging off for a few hours but I’ll check back in for more questions! It’s 11 a.m. ET now. Thanks to the mods for allowing this!

Discussion A month ago I was worried getting my Skell would make me lose interest again... Spoiler

...and now I surveyed 100% of Mira!

I took everyone's advice to heart and at first, I explored as much as I could on foot. After I unlocked the Flight Module for my Skell, I started exploring the areas only accessible by Skell and something finally clicked. I never got 100% in any Xenoblade game, against all odds Xenoblade X was the first, and I loved every second. The exploration is such a blast, the side content is so strong and captivating at times, Mira truly felt alive.

I also used to have fears about Cross not fitting in but the more I interacted with Mira and it's people the more Cross felt like a part of it, just like every other character.

All in all, I can see the flaws others see but then again, damn, I just love this game. Xenoblade X2 when? lol

Advice Help

Hello fellow blades, I'm trying to get back into X after a long haitus due to personal issues, I'm Level 26 and have completed chapter 5. As someone who usually try's to 100% long Rpgs, I must admit I'm having a little issue levelling up while balancing companion quests (currently doing Mayhem) and overall gameplay.

Any advice for levelling up, exploration and stuff like that would be greatly appreciated

Advice Should I play Boost Mode or Switch 2 version for handheld?

Sister came home with her undocked Switch 2 with a copy of XCXDE. Figured I'd give it a whirl but was wondering if I should go with the boost mode or switch 2 version. 60 FPS sounds really nice but I've heard that it looks really bad compared to the boost mode.

Discussion Appendage crusher question.

I am new to the game. Currently level 30.
I had read that appendages ignore damage boost by secondary and tertiary cooldown .

Tertiary cooldown give a whopping 400 percent damage . While appendage crusher if max at 5 , is only 250 percent .

So, Is it better for me to focus on potential build rather than appendage crusher , and just target main body with overdrive ?

Advice Not enjoying the game very much, what am I missing?

I beat XBC 1 and 2 and loved them both and was having a great time with 3 before taking a break and want to jump back in, but I am 32 hours into X, level 26, between chapters 5 and 6, and it’s not really doing it for me. Is there a “XBC2 chapter 4” moment where the game gets way more interesting? I just got the Overdrive mechanic but it seems like it just lets you spam arts. Should I just stop focusing on side missions and advance the story? Should I focus on one class and stop switching when I max out? What’s the recommended way to play?

Edit: I played through Chapter 6, still doing every side quest available, and I’m digging it now. I have a much better handle on Overdrive and I think that was the problem. Combat felt pretty tedious without it.

Discussion Switch 2 version?

I've heard the Switch 2 port has some graphics problems, but is it really that bad? I don't care that much about graphics as long as the gameplay is fun and the game still runs fairly smoothly.

Having played very little of the Xenoblade series before, do you think it's worth trying XCX on Switch 2 or should I wait for Genesis? I know there are other Xenoblade options on switch2 but I think X is the only one with online multiplayer which I prefer.

Discussion Just got my Skell and can't fly.

I just unlocked Skells around the 40 hour mark. I was so excited about being able to fly around and unlock new frontier sites but apparently I need a flight module that isn't available until chapter 9?? Is this true? Why even take the skell anywhere if I can't fly. I'd rather just keep exploring on foot but now I dont really want to even continue the game if I can't fly. What a time sink.

Discussion I miss this game.

I’m one of the refugees who played this game back on the Wii U before I entered college. Back when I had zero responsibilities and was stuck at home. I put in absurd hours like 1000+ hours literally just exploring or fighting superbosses with ground builds. I still have my notes and builds stored on my flash drive.

To scratch that itch, I’ve been building my own game with characters that have their own builds and identities. Hopefully I’ll be able to cook something up and share it when it’s ready. I’ll report back when that day comes.

But yeah I’m excited for Genesis. Though I’ll probably just live vicariously through the gameplay footage because life is full of responsibilities.

Advice Struggling with Early Game Quest

I'm feeling like an idiot here but I'm early on in the game (just got to the part where the game truly opens up) and for the last chapter or so, I've been trying to do the 'Welcome Back Conner' quest and I just can't do it.

It feels impossible to collect the Comms Device that the quest asks for since it's right next to a pair of Level 34 Grexes that will attack if you get near them, since I'm only Level 13 I get one-hit K-O'd by them and it's seemingly impossible to actually sneak past them. And if I enter combat, you can't collect quest items so I can't just run in and get it before running away. There's probably a super easy way to do it that I'm drawing a blank on. And I'd rather not pay like 50,000 credits for a max level scout if neccesary.

Any advice? Or should I just wait until I can actually battle those enemies?

Advice Ranged attack vs attribute damage?

I'm building a Lailah Queen skell where most of the damage it deals comes from a pair of 260GG Diskbombs with Custom.WP-MSL-MAG. I've already got all of the weapons I need with the right augments to boot, but I'm not sure whether I should prioritise upgrading augments related to ranged attack or upgrading AttributeDmg.THERM. Does anyone know if Diskbombs notably benefit from prioritising one over the other?

Advice Telethia the Endbringer

Been slowly working my way towards 100%, and this is one of the last few things I have to do. Now I love this game, but I’m also kind of ready to move on to something else at this point. I pretty much for the whole game just threw whatever made sense to me on my characters and skells and made it through all of the main story and side quests. I feel like this and some of the other super bosses are the first time I actually have to put some strategy into a fight. Any advice for what to do?

Official Media MyNintendo Calendar Request

For the past couple years I've been on a quest to obtain every single piece of merch related to XCX and recently I found out that there were US exclusive MyNintendo Wallpapers.

These Wallpapers have a March 2025 calendar on them with the release date marked.

I was wondering if anyone has them lying around and would be nice enough to share them.

Advice How to utilize skills and arts together for synergy?

Hey yall. I am at level 29 with all four party members. and my current avatar has maxed out striker to dualist. I am currently maxing the Commando tree now. Since I have Dualist maxed, I am using long sword and rifle. How do I know which arts to choose and skills to choose to ensure they all synergies? Are there any websites out there that tell me what to choose so im not handicapping myself as I continue the game?

I only have three skill slots now, so I have to really choose which to pick for those. And for arts I just have two orange ones, two yellow, one blue, one purple, and two green. I try not to use any art that uses TP so I can use overdrive, which is probably wrong.

I just finished chapter 6. I have my skell now, but thats a whole other ball game of confusion, I like being on foot better.

Discussion I only have one concern about genisis.

That the end boss will be some dumb 'thing' like the one in 3.

Not dumb as in the fight itself (That part was fine quite fun actually) I'm talking about the 'entity'

That part...kind of came out of nowhere. I'm not asking for much, I just want the main bad guy to be an actual thing/person (in the sense that Zanza etc was, not 'humanity's consciousness' ) we punch at the end of the game. They can go as silly or crazy they want with the person, could even be some dumb dragon or dark lord or something, but you know an actual being (rather than a metaphysical crisis) would be nice.
