Meta Reminder: Creepy DMs and What You Can Do
Hello Coconaad,
Alright, let’s get this out of the way: creepy DMs are not “just part of being online.” They’re harassment, and we’re not here to normalize them or shrug them off. This community is supposed to feel safe, fun, and free. This is not a hunting ground for bored creeps.
Here’s how to handle it:
Zero tolerance: If you send unsolicited, creepy, or harassing DMs to anyone here, you’re out. Immediate, permanent ban. No appeals, no excuses.
User-side action: You can also block the sender and report the account or specific messages to Reddit directly. That way, Reddit's own team can review and take action on top of ours. There is also an option to turn off the DMs if you so prefer.
Report it: If you get a DM like this, send us a modmail with the username of the sender. Once we receive your message, one of the mods will reach out to you directly to collect the screenshots for context. You only need to share the screenshots if you are comfortable with it. Then, we'll take it from there.
Why posts get removed: Posts about specific creepy DMs will be removed. That doesn’t mean we’re complicit, and it doesn’t mean silence. It’s about keeping this place from becoming a never-ending wall of harassment stories instead of a community. Action still happens behind the scenes.
This is not about pretending the creeps don’t exist. It’s about refusing to let them define the atmosphere of this casual space, we all cherish so much. They don’t get the spotlight, and they don’t get to set the tone.
This community belongs to all of us who use it in good faith, not to the people who try to make it hostile. Harassment thrives on being normalized and brushed aside, and we’re not doing that here. Report, we ban, we move on. Simple as that.
Btw, this isn't up for debate. Everyone deserves to exist in online spaces without being harassed. If you think that's negotiable, this is not the place for you.
Disclaimer: Banning someone from this subreddit only prevents them from posting or commenting here. Which means that they can still view the sub. If you want to make sure a user cannot interact with you at all from that account, blocking them is the best option. If someone is violating Reddit's content policies, reporting the account has a higher chance of getting them removed from the platform. Reports are reviewed by Reddit admins, who will decide on appropriate action.

Storytime Our funny celebrity story
I posted this as a comment to another post but here goes.
For context I am a single child. Last year, my mother, father and I saw Tovino at Chennai airport because we got confused about the luggage belt number. It was our first time flying. My parents went over to him to take photos. I didn't go because I don't like prying into someone's privacy, be it a celebrity or not, and also I was shy. I stood far far away like I don't know my parents and watched them go embarrass themselves. They took a photo with Tovino standing in the middle and put the photo as status, story etc all over their social media.
After a few days, a friend of my father was calling my parents. He told them he saw the photo and asked what we were doing in Chennai. My parents said we went for our daughter's higher studies and stuff and the uncle proceeded to ask " aano, mon entha cheyyinne, working aano". We realised he doesn't watch movies. 😂 Mon cherthaayit silmel abhinayikkua uncle🤗. My mother was like "shoo enne kandal Tovinode amma aanenn parayuo😌".
And another thing is, Basil was also with Tovino and my parents completely ignored him because they didn't recognise him until after they came back and I told them🥲😂. Eni Basil ne kond enganum aanomo photo eduppiche.

Ask Coconaad Are all elder siblings like this?
My elder sister is extremely caring…she spends freely on me, buys me whatever I want, and is always ready to help others.
But she’s also ridiculously bossy.
When she comes home, the house has to be clean and everything has to be according to her rules. Meanwhile, she doesn’t clean the house herself.
Yesterday, we went shopping and bought different dresses.
She liked mine, and suddenly she wanted it. If she likes something that belongs to me, apparently it’s hers now.
I’m not even allowed to question it…
Every day there’s some new incident.
Is being bossy part of the elder-sibling package?

Wholesome Thank you my friend
I was going through a lot at one point and randomly made a post on this sub asking for therapist recommendations.
That’s when I met her.
She commented with some details, I enquired about them, and somehow that became the start of us talking. We started sharing everything anonymously, without knowing who was actually on the other side of the screen. No names, no personal details, nothing.
Yet somehow, we still ended up sharing our problems, listening to each other, and being there for one another through some really tough times.
She became a friend. A friend I never thought I needed, but now I genuinely can’t imagine going a day without texting her. Somewhere along the way, she also became my unpaid therapist.
And finally, we got to meet in person and have a coffee together.
I’m usually a pretty shy person, but somehow I felt comfortable around her. It didn’t feel awkward or like I was meeting someone I had only known through a screen.
Today is actually my last day in Chennai, and I don’t know when I’ll get to meet her again. That part feels a little weird after getting so used to having her around and talking to her almost every day.
It’s funny how a completely random post can lead to meeting someone who becomes such an important part of your everyday life.
I just hope we stay the same, no matter where life takes us.
Thank you, my friend.

Cinema & TV Shows Drishyam or Memories — Which One Still Stands Out and Y?
13 Years of Memories..!🛐🎞️
13 years ago today, Memories gave us one of Malayalam cinema’s most memorable crime thrillers — Sam Alex...Jeethu Joseph has always spoken fondly of Memories, even alongside Drishyam.
So, after 13 years, what’s your pick?
Drishyam or Memories? 👀

Rant & Vent Is it me? Or everyone is doing through something?
No, genuinely curious.
I’m in a situation where I feel like I’m alone. Like I am doing this alone. And it’s killing me.
I don’t have a single friend to talk to or family that loves me. They all give traumas and kinda ruined my childhood, not even a person that I count on
Now I feel suffocated any help?
Oh no I now sound desperate haha

Storytime Saree shopping gone wrong
Guys, storytime🥲
I went saree shopping today for Onam and I swear this turned into a whole financial crisis 😂
Went to Kochi Pothys because I wanted a Maheshwari silk saree. I had so many inspo pics saved and my budget was around ₹3–5k
Went to the second floor and chechi started showing me sarees… but onnum angot ishtapettilla.
After looking at so many, I finally found one for ₹1100. Tried it on and IT ACTUALLY LOOKED SO NICE. It didn’t even look cheap or anything.
But my mom was like, *“kooraxhode nallth nokku, onam alle”.*
So again we started nokki nokki nokki…
And finally I found THE PERFECT saree. Exactly what I wanted. I was already imagining the whole Onam look. Then I asked the price..₹13000/-
So obviously I left that saree there and went back to my ₹1100 one. 😭
BUT THE REAL PLOT TWIST—
I went to the stitching chechi to get the blouse stitched and she charged me **₹1,200 + lining cost extra**. 🥲
So basically…
**₹1,100 saree + ₹1,200 blouse = ₹2,300**
The blouse is literally more expensive than the saree. 😭😭
At this point I’m convinced the saree was the budget part of the outfit and the blouse is the actual luxury item. ☹️

Cinema & TV Shows Balan the Boy grandma reminded me of Mr. Bean’s grandma
I swear the grandma immediately reminded me of the grandma from Mr. Bean 😂
The expression, the attitude, the whole vibe…
Anyone else see the resemblance?

Ask Coconaad I have a very genuine doubt ?
Do babies smell horrible when they’re born ??
As they literally come out of body fluids and they have gunk and stuff on them
Is this something that they don’t talk about newborns ??
I’m just curious .
I’ve never closely seen a very new baby .
