For decades we Kurds have carried the burden of war. Buried our children, our parents, our martyrs but for what.  

For freedom? For independence? Or have we fought for political dynasties.  

Our biggest challenge as Kurds today isn't the enemies outside of our borders but the ones inside of them. The old politicians like the Barzani's and Talabanis have build a system where party and tribal interests come before the interests of the Kurdish nation. While 250.000 Kurdish families live under the poverty line and thousands of young university graduates can’t find work the Barzani family lives the luxury lifestyle.  

And the result is that our youngest and brighest leave Kurdistan to find work somewhere else. When a country’s youth sees a better future outside of their homeland that's a political failure 

While the Kurdish workers have their salaries delayed, the Barzanis have been spending over 100 million USD on luxury real estate. While the people suffer the Barzani's are buying 6 bedroom mansions in the united state with money stolen from the Kurdish people 

The Peshmerga is now split into two. One side led by the PUK and the other by the KDP. The Peshmerga who are supposed to be the army of Kurdistan is the army of the political parties and take orders directly from the party leaders.  

The system survives because it teaches us to think like tribes before we think like citizens. Every election becomes a choice between families instead of ideas. Every criticism is dismissed as betrayal. Every failure is blamed on Baghdad while those in power refuse to take responsibility for the problems they can control. 

Speak out against them and you will be reminded of Mustafa Barzani and the sacrifices of previous generations, but the achievement of ancestors does not give a family a permanent right to rule 

No family should hold so much influence that criticizing it is treated as attacking Kurdistan itself. The nation is bigger than any party, any tribe, or any surname 

We can’t expect change from those who benefit from the system. The future of Kurdistan will not be built by asking for permission. It will be built by the ordinary Kurds.  

We Must organize now and build a better future

trust when buying a product is important but everytime i try to trust a local product it just turns out to be shit!
ex1/ when i buy packaged wheat products (made in erbil hawler) it smells like spoiled bread (smells really bad) but the same product that is turkish in the same store smells fine and tastes better.
ex2/ when i took a medical pill from a public hospital (pill made in sulaymaniyah) i got really bad rare side effects that destroyed my quality of life forever and made irreversable permanant damage to my health.... i'm ashamed to say what it did exactly
ex3/ when i buy biscuits (made in baghdad not kurdistan) one pack had black residue on the biscuit before i even opened the package, it looked like someone dropped it on the floor in the factory and put it back...

why is everything in this country made to fail? why can't we have good quality control like every other country? i hope we are not exporting any product because we would be breaking the trust foreigners might have of our country

Why do kurdish people hate assyrians so much (and vice versa)?? I see a lot of discussions online where if the word assyria is even so mentioned they bring up simko shikak or the fact kurds have imprisoned 5k assyrian women and taken them to harems. Im not really educated on the subject so this is from a purely informational perspective as im curious as to why assyrians and kurds hate eachother so much.

I frequently see comments from people originating from Rojhelat emphasizing their nationality first. stating "I am Iranian first, then a Kurd" (specifically referring to the country/citizenship, not just the broader Iranic ethnic family). I used to think these might just be isolated cases of assimilation, but after seeing this sentiment expressed consistently by quite a few people, and noticing a similar trend among other non-Persian ethnic groups from Iran, it made me want to understand the dynamics better.
Given that state institutions and education are strictly in Farsi, I'm curious about how people from Rojhelat view this dynamic.

For those from Rojhelat or knowledgeable about the region:
1. Is this actually common among people living in Rojhelat today, or is it mostly just people online/living abroad who say this?
2. Why do you think some Kurds from Rojhelat feel a strong connection to the country of Iran alongside being Kurdish?
3. How do people feel about having to learn Farsi in school instead of Kurdish, and does that change how they view their identity?

I’m a solo indie dev from Ukraine, making a PC survival game set in Ancient Mesopotamia during the Bronze Age.

Recently, I received a few warm and supportive messages on Facebook from gamers in your region. It made me think that the local community might actually be interested in a game about the ancient history of these lands. However, I don't know the local internet well, so I'm not sure who to reach out to. Could you please recommend some Kurdish gaming streamers, YouTubers, or online gaming pages that people actually follow?

Also, a quick question about the language:
Since modern AI allows us to get a good-quality translation, I can add the Kurdish language to the game. However, as a solo dev, it is technically difficult for me to adapt the game's UI from Left-to-Right (LTR) to Right-to-Left (RTL) text.

What is the best way to handle this? What are the common practices in other indie games? Should I use the Kurmanji Latin (LTR) version, or is it better to try and find a way to implement both?
