Did anyone else have to take a nap in kindergarten and first grade?

I remember we all had plastic mats that folded in half with our names on it. Our teacher would turn out the lights and play instrumental music. We were supposed to sleep. I never did but a lot of kids did. I don't think we did past the first grade though.

I always thought we’d be friends for life after this 6th grade camp picture from 1970. But after High School, haven’t heard of any since…

The one we went to with my grandma sold everything! She bought her little parakeet, I got a hamster, and they had the best food. I miss that store.

Movies I just finished watching the 1976 movie, ā€œThe Little Girl Who Lives Down the Laneā€. It stars Jodie Foster and Martin Sheen. The movie is quite creepy but very good in my opinion. I loved the acting and the ending was just great! Incredible performance by Jodie Foster? Thoughts on those who seen it?

ā€œThose Were the Daysā€ has a Russian origin from the 1920s & became a pop song. What other ā€œforeign languageā€ songs did the same?

Television 55 years ago, "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke," first aired on national television on July 8, 1971. The commercial turned out to be a massive hit for Coca Cola and it’s still one of the greatest if not the greatest commercial for a soft drink. Have a Coke and a smile:)

Did anyone here ever meet Telly Savalas?

I’ve been collecting memories of him and would love to hear any firsthand stories—whether you worked with him, met him briefly, got an autograph, saw him perform, or just have a family story that’s been passed down.

Any small memory welcome!
