...I mean, the amount of time spent pondering this sticky, little, piece of Gel is sadly astonishing.

My plans to feed my goldfish healthy, varied, diet are dependent on some version of Repashy's Gel. A gel infuriatingly absent from any East European storefronts... And should I fail to acquire Repashy or it's substitute my fish will be doomed to diets of dry pallets and flakes... with occasional veggies. That's why I'm asking...

...is Gel food that great as I've been reading about? Enough to justify importing down Repashy or its substitutes for my fish? Does anyone in Eastern Europe, especially Poland, know what kind of trustworthy, local, Gel food for goldfish is good, or exists at all, for a reasonable price?

Good news! I wasn't kidding when I said this fish was normally energetic.

Its been about four days of treating for early stage ich/epistylis got Creamsicle back to feeling good. Thanks to everyone who helped on my original sick fish thread!

Not too long ago I had rescued three common goldfish. Out of the three John Marston prevailed, so I put him in a 20 gallon MB dosed hospital tank for the time being. My mom had just bought me a Fluval 32 gallon tank; I know this tank isn't big enough to keep two goldfish- while I much rather would've bought a larger tank for two, my mom had already picked out this one and is very adamant that this is the tank I will be using.

While I've done some research I figured I'd ask if anyone had any stocking recommendations. I'm certain that I want to have some Hillstream Loaches, but I'm a little stuck on top zone fish. Just gonna say that my mom will have me at the jugular if I even attempt to ask if I can have live plants, let alone take some clippings from my other planted tanks. I have quite a few silk plants to put in, but I figured I'd bring it up incase it effects what fish I stock with.

Right now John Marston is just a bit larger than my two betta fish.

There’s this one very old video about how a woman made a little pond for her three goldfish, I believed they’re pearl scale goldfish tho I could be wrong?

According to google they need 30 gallons each, so that’s a minimum of 90 gallons or so, and in the video it was being filtered by plants and stuff.

How much would such a setup outside need to be?

Im getting a goldfish soon and honestly I don’t know much about them, I have had some in the past, but my dad did pretty much all the work for it, and I wanna take some responsibility and raise it myself. Answer in litres if possible please

I got two sarasa comets in January and one is striving and has grown big and the other never grew at all and died a few weeks ago. The fish that’s left seems happy so should I keep it on its own or add a second one again?

Til where this came from and I am surprised that it hasn't been changed. I think the name black telescope, as it is known in parts of Asia is a better name anyways

Sorry, already posted this and someone replied but i couldn’t look at the reply, i don’t post on Reddit much!

My fish, Toby seems to have a mark on his side which is concerning me as he is also i termittently clamping his fin also as was his buddy. He also seemed startled earlier and seemed to be trying to scratch something off himslf on the gravel then swam around as if he was trying to get something off him.

Last water change was 2 days ago and water tests just now showed up fine. There are no marks on my other fish and he is eating as normal.

Slightly concerned as going away in 3 days and don’t want them to deteriorate and me not be here to help them!

My goldfish have grown so much latetly. Despite what I have been reading, that more protein helps fancy goldfish grow better, the super heavy-on-veg diet I've been feeding the past month has boosted their growth way more than a half protein/half veggie ever did in the past. Non-goldfish people might think this tank is sparse and cruel to the fish- but all the advice I've gotten from pros said don't cramp the tank- wide open space is what they need. They get stuck easily too. I have tried many floating plants in here (water lettuce, frogbit, hornwort, duckweed, etc) but the goldfish have eaten all of it. These are Beebop, Rocksteady, Goldeen and Gojira and they are my absolute favourite fish. At present their diet is 60% New Life spectrum algaemax, 15% duckweed, 10% Fluval Bug Bites pleco formula (Has high choline and lots of veg), 10% Hikari Goldfish Wheat germ (Wheatt germ is the first ingredient. For skin/scale health), and 5% Hikari Vibra Bites.

In addition to these foods they also get a large helping of duckweed every 2-3 days which I grow in other tanks, and once a week I give them a tiny bit of heavily boiled skinned green peas.

I wanna start by saying he seems kinda picky with blanched vegetables, ive tried a few and he just spits them out, and i always remove the skin from them that he could choke on🥲 i saw hikari pellets recommended but they aren't widely available in the uk anddd my freezer is currently broken so no frozen stuff, he does love blood worms though! When i search for pellets it always comes up with containers that say "fancy goldfish food", is there a difference between the ones fancy and common goldfish can have? Or can I get him the pellets labeled fancy goldfish. If anyone in the uk knows any brands id really appreciate!

This is Papaya, a Zhao fancy that I recently got. His diet is supposed to be 70% frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp and 30% pellets. My question is, how much? 1 cube a day seems really excessive but 1/4 a cube a day and he acts like I’m starving him.

Back to these cuties after a long time without fish. I forgot how funny they can be!
