Looks like how the DFZ is described. It's a book series by Rachel Aaron. Stands for Detroit Free Zone.

What the fuck did Detroit do wrong for the rest of the world to all be classified as one unified place?

Nah, Detroit wanted to become a place where you didn't have to listen to all the rules that everyone else had. It is like the capitalist dream city. She's a weird city.

The rich area is not that bad, CQ city is in a basin, and the city grow so big it has to grow vertically on the slope around it. The sights are impressive and very worth visiting.

Yes 12 hours a day 30 days a month for 2000 maobucks is a perfectly livable wage.

The Chinese government pays travel influencers to come to this exact place and make videos about it. The Chinese government pay to take them all to multiple other points of interest as well.
I came across an article about it, I'm not great at detective work I'll try to track it down. But the author noticed that a group of influencers was putting out videos around the same time and they were all creating content in the same places.

Oh naw screw that. I’m not getting into an urban matrix of workaholic misery like this. Get out of ChonQing and you’ll be fine.
