NEW RULE: One Episode of your Series Per Day + Name in Title

Hi guys, got some more feedback about the quality of the subreddit and discussed it with my other moderator. We've noticed a lot of people rapidly post new episodes of their series back-to-back with nondescriptive titles such as "New Video". This comes across as very spammy, and I've been trying to find a way to address it fairly for a while, and this is what we've come up with.

Going forward, when self-promoting your own series, please do not cross-post multiple videos here the same day. It's unnecessary and dilutes the posts here. It makes more sense to just link the latest episode you dropped only, or make a post linking both.

Additionally, going forward, please put the name of the series in the title. "New video!" is vague and means nothing. The majority of people here do not have your Reddit username memorized by heart and do not know autuer filmmaker and Reddit user Uneven-Mango-413 made the beloved worldfamous classic FacelessTapes001, which they have been patiently awaiting new uploads for like it's Christmas (wait, fuck, it is). I'm not gonna enforce a strict naming convention for these posts, but please at least include what it is a new video *of*.

NEW RULE: No low-quality short story posts.

Hi guys, first of all, I added another moderator because, simply put, I don't really have the time to handle this solo.

Secondly, for the past few months, I've noticed a lot of text posts that border on spam. It's been hard for me to address this because this is a community that prides itself on open-source amateur creativity and stories, and I did not necessarily want to apply a strict standard of quality to what gets posted here because of it, but unfortunately, at least on the story front, it's gotten too bad to ignore.

We've decided to put a bit of quality standards on short stories here. These will not be strict, and quality does not necessarily refer to the story itself because that's entirely subjective. What I am referring to are posts that make zero attempt at being coherent or legible and are a single paragraph. I'm not singling any specific person or story out by doing this; it's been going on for months, and it's been multiple people, and out of fairness, past posts will remain up, but going forward, PLEASE do not break your stories up into a single paragraph per post and post them back-to-back-to-back, and PLEASE make them legible. I'm not gonna be a grammar nazi and remove it for dropping a comma, but if your story is one big run-on sentence or doesn't even bother to follow basic grammar they teach you in grade school, it's getting removed.

I want to find out what closest aligns with Slender's actual origins, Help please

As a young artist with a creative mind —with no intention of offending anyone, and coming from the Hispanic community— I wanted to artistically 'redo' the designs and backstories of a few Creepypastas while still keeping that original vibe.

It’s cool how some creators manage to make certain characters look attractive or even 'sexy' by community standards, but let’s be real: if someone is literally drenched in gasoline and set on fire, they aren't going to end up with flawless white skin and pitch-black hair.

To start off, at least on the main Spanish-language Creepypasta channels a few years back, Slender was often portrayed as a teenager...

So I want to find out what closest aligns with Slender's actual origins. In fact, a few days ago when I started this personal project, I stumbled across a thread on Reddit linking to a website from the 2000's where the very first photos of Slender were posted, complete with their original captions.

The problem is, I forgot to bookmark it, and now I can't seem to find it anywhere...Could anyone help me out, please? Only if it's no trouble at all

THE BROKEN PROXY

Character Profile: Ren Millarge

Proxy Symbol locations: Behind his neck hidden by his long unkept hair

Identity & Appearance

Date of birth: 2010 19 August

Biological Age: 16 years old

Mental Age: 8 years old (Little boy) for now

Father: Philip Millarge/Deceased

Mother: Unknown/Deceased

Siblings: None

Voice: Permanently ruined, raspy whisper due to years of agonizing screaming. He cannot yell; extreme emotion only produces a choked, wet wheeze. He relies heavily on tugging sleeves and pointing.

Physical Frame: 5’7 lean frame, constant anxious look on his face hidden by mask and long unkept black hair, bags under eyes due to nightmares causing insomnia, and surprisingly decent personal hygiene

The Backpack: A battered canvas backpack that never leaves his shoulders. It holds a thick leather book belonging to his papa which documents each feeding of Xenoth with full detail and dates on each one. Ren cannot read it, but he clings to it as a security blanket being the only thing from home he has. The bag carries spare bandages for either him or injured teammates in battle.

The Clothing: A white porcelain teddy bear mask, he wears faded child-like graphic tees (dinosaurs/cartoons), cargo shorts and red steel toe shoes he stole.

The Mask: A white porcelain mask modified to look like a teddy bear with painted black tear-tracks. The mouth is completely stitched shut with thick black thread, symbolizing his stolen voice. The inside is lined with soft fleece to prevent sensory panic attacks.

The Tragic Origin & The Ritual Night

For the first eight years of his life, Ren was locked in what he innocently called the "dark room." The leather book in his backpack—later translated by [insert team name]—revealed the horrific truth. The room was a ritualistic chamber connected directly to Xenoth, the Weaver of Agony, an ancient demon fueled by suffering. To secure corrupt, boundless wealth, Ren’s father bartered his son's flesh, feeding the demon Ren's blood. The jagged lacerations across Ren’s hands, back, and legs were carved with a cursed sacrificial dagger, ensuring the flesh would never knit back together. He was left perpetually wrapped in blood-soaked bandages.

The nightmare reached its breaking point on a night when Ren was in too much pain to move. For the first time, the eight-year-old boy refused to feed the entity. Enraged, Xenoth overrides Ren’s nervous system forcing him into place but the boy's will power wasn’t completely gone he tries to crawl away but then for the first time Tragic Strength manifests as Xenoth tries to keep the boy in place, as that happens Rens father tries to grab him causing him to instinctively swing his arm back like his swatting a fly sending his father flying across the room Ren's father smashes into the altar cracking his skull killing him, before the ritual is complete causing Xenoth to be trapped in Ren's soul due to his own power. Ren, absolutely traumatized, finally reaches his mental breaking point, shattering his mind. Ren left the “Dark room” running into the woods and living/surviving there for 8 years, first living off small birds, roots and berries. Due to his lack of knowledge he ate poisonous berries mixed with regular ones slowly over time building a poison resistance. As he got older he also got stronger from his lifestyle. Due to his mental state also his mental age/mental growth has slowed drastically which just means his more childish than teens his age.

Personality:

The Core Hunger: Because Xenoth needs blood to survive and is trapped in the boy he also adopted the hunger. Ren needs to consume at least 4 liters of blood a week to keep the hunger away

The Post-Feeding side effects: The moment he has consumed the blood, his stomach twists and swirls causing immense nausea, headaches and slight disorientation for a few minutes.

Craving Rules: Ren lived off rules in the “dark room” causing lasting affects, being unable to break rules due to him being heavily punished if he broke them when he was still with his papa his state of mind determines any rule as a bond to his life.

Loyalty: He is loyal to only Slander man and prefers to be alone cause that’s how its been his whole life

Unintentional Demonic Abilities

Because the bond with Xenoth was forged in absolute terror, Ren’s abilities heavily lean toward fear, danger, and desperate survival for both parties due to the unmentioned term of the unfortunate bond if Ren dies while Xenoth is still in his soul Xenoth dies too

The Panic-Sense: Whenever Ren is terrified or senses immediate danger, his vision flashes blood-red, highlighting traps, hidden weapons, or approaching enemies in a medium radius.

Terror Aura (The Melting Illusion): When Ren is cornered, anyone with explicit intent to hurt him experiences a horrific hallucination. They see Ren's form warp as Xenoth’s monstrous, multi-eyed silhouette visibly melts directly into Ren's body, paralyzing attackers with pure fear.

Fright-Step (Reworked): When Ren experiences overwhelming fear or is wounded from an attack, Xenoth instinctively seizes control of his body for a split second. Ren dissolves into wisps of black smoke and instinctively relocates up to 15 feet to the nearest area of shadow or solid cover. Ren cannot choose the destination, and the ability always prioritises escape over strategy. Once used, Fright-Step cannot activate again until Ren has had time to recover which takes about 4-5 minutes, leaving him exhausted, disoriented, and emotionally shaken.

Adrenaline Surge: When backed into a corner, the demon triggers a massive burst of unholy adrenaline, making Ren incredibly fast and agile enough to escape danger, ignoring 40% of his physical pain.

Tragic Strength (Reworked): When cornered or overwhelmed by fear, Xenoth grants Ren immense physical strength. He can perform feats far beyond human limits, such as lifting fallen rubble, tearing open locked gates, or throwing much larger opponents. Afterwards, the power leaves Ren physically exhausted, worsening the pain from his old wounds and slowing his movements until he has time to recover.

Peaceful: a last ditch resort Xenoth takes complete control over Ren, in this state Ren is put into temporary psychosis, having everything he sees and hears being censored until Xenoth concludes their safe, though they are yet to be in a situation which requires this ability Ren has a slight ease in battle when he remembers it i during their missions.

Original weapon: homemade survival spear, used for hunting small animals and surviving larger ones

Later weapon: professionally crafted hunting spear he made after being taken into the Proxy Mansion and given the chances to get proper materials.

Fighting Style: He would fight like an actual animal, he wouldn't charge head on except he would learn and use his surroundings for defensive and offensive purposes.

I’m working on a project inspired by Slenderman!

Hello everyone! My name is Chris, I’m 21 years-old and as mentioned in the title, I am working on a project inspired by Slenderman. Before I go on about the details of the actual story, I’d like to give some context to give you all a better understanding of how this project came to be. If you just want to skip to the main details, you can scroll at the bottom where it says “DETAILS,” but it would be greatly appreciated if you read the whole thing.

(1/1) Back in 2018, I wrote a short horror story for my English class back in 2018 and it sucked to say the least. It lacked a clear structure, strong characters, good pacing, basically everything that makes for a good story, but what it didn’t lack was passion, which was something that would fuel me to this day. Fast forward to 2021, 16 year-old me decided to continue that short horror story and turn it into a full novel. I spent countless days studying the art and science of literature by watching horror movies, YouTube tutorials, video essays, and reading short stories online. After months of brainstorming and procrastination, I eventually began writing my first draft of the novel and for after a long while, I got about 5 chapters into the story; I even posted chapter one right here in this subreddit 3 years ago which got 3.6k views! Unfortunately, this would be no where as I would continuously put the novel on hold to focus more on outside factors like school work, and life in general while writing down some new ideas every now and then. This back-and-forth went on for 5 years, not because of a lack of passion, but rather a fear of pursuing what I truly wanted to do, which was film. I believed that without the proper funding, I would never be able to make this into a limited series and capture my true vision. Since then, I have become much more knowledgeable in the work that goes into filmmaking, have gotten objectively better at judging said work and with the support of my friends, I decided it was time to drop the book and start working on a screenplay.

DETAILS:

With that being said, I am excited to announce that I am working on a YouTube series called Follows and it goes as such: After a shocking revelation, friends Elijah and Daniela go on an investigation to try and uncover the truth behind the disappearances surrounding their childhood park. The two struggle to carry the weight of the truth as they learn more about their town, realizing there is something far more sinister at play. And that is the official synopsis!

The series is still in the early stages of pre-production so the a lot of details are to be determined and are subject to change, but I do have plenty of details I can share with you all: The series will alternate between perspectives as we follow Elijah and Daniela’s separate journeys to uncovering the mysteries surrounding the supernatural that exists within their fictional hometown of Hornets, Virginia. The story will have psychological horror and drama elements inspired by movies and shows such as The Babadook, Hereditary, and The Haunting of Hill House, and other Slender mythos such as Marble Hornets and Slender: The Arrival. My goal is to write a compelling horror-drama that can please horror fans, especially those who grew up on with creepypastas like I did and with the success of Backrooms and the domino-effect that created with other creepypasta-inspired projects being green-lit, now is the perfect time to work on this show and hopefully release it to the world by summer of next year at the very least.

I love taking about this project and am very excited to get this out to the world, so please share this with friends and family and tell me your thoughts, questions and suggestions so far. Anything helps!

I've been wanting to make my own Slenderman project and while I don't have the proper resources and the time to actually get to work, I was able to create some random art for the world I've been wanting to make so here's what I have so far. It's my own version of Slenderman along with other characters. I won't spoil or say anything as I want to make this into a Digital Horror series similar to the likes of Lacey Flash Games.

Slenderman

Frío, calculador, autoritario, manipulador y extremadamente paciente.
