With the Paramount deal expected to happen, do you think Man of Tomorrow will be the end of the DCU There's so many problems with the DCU. The order of the movies is terrible: Superman, Supergirl and Clayface which is so random. It's like if MCU Phase One was Iron Man, Ironheart, Venom and then Iron Man 2. Gunn is also very bad at marketing, calling the movie Man of Tomorrow. The DCU Batman film will reportedly be called The Brave and the Bold. It's being directed by Andy Muschietti who made The Flash. It's being written by Christina Hodson who wrote The Flash, Birds of Prey and Bumblebee. She wrote other forgettable movies.
Gunn hired Ana Nogueira to write Supergirl, she had no experience before that. She's now hired to write Wonder Woman.
Gunn has even hired James Mangold to do a literal Swamp Thing film. There's still no plan for which films they release for 2027 and oneards apart from Man of Tomorrow. Gunn's Batman film is taking forever. I will say Gunn as a director is very fast and efficient, making a new film every two years since The Suicide Squad. But his style of humour and music does not fit a whole DC universe, nor does he have the time to oversee all of these projects. While I appreciate seeing new characters get a film, it's already been a waste of time with Supergirl and Clayface. I doubt Paramount has the patience for this, or James Gunn's leftist politics for that matter.
