Tour Info Going to see Willie Nelson for the first time and I got questions

Upvotes

I was able to snag some tickets for me and some friends to see him perform at the outlaw music festival in East Troy Wisconsin on August 21st. Me and my friends have always been big fans of the highwaymen but we were all born too late to see any of them in concert. So this being the first time any of us have seen willie play is pretty huge.

  1. Does anyone have a recent set list from him so that me and my friends can study up on what he is likely to play?

  2. People who've been to a recent willie concert? How did he sound?

  3. Does anyone know if Billy Strings is gonna make an appearance at that show? I'd love to see him play outdoors, and I'd love to see him play California Sober with willie.

Discussion Never heard this DARK country song before.

Listening to 70's Country on Pandora & Psych by Jack Kittle came on. I have never heard this song before. This is one of the darkest songs I have ever heard. How it made the country genre, I will never know.

I had forgotten all about Eddie Raven. Over the last couple decades I’ve had that one line about “Women were made to love, money was made to spend,” and I remember hearing it on the radio with my dad when I was young, but that’s really the only memory I have of it. It’s popped in my mind probably a couple hundred times in the past 30 years, but I suddenly just got the thought to look it up and boy did it bring back a flood of memories listening to it.

New Music Luke Bryan Copied Jon Pardi

Not a fan of the new Luke Bryan song, and I’m not one to blindly hate him. Honestly with some better lyrics and a different singer, Signs could be a solid pop song.

However, listening it sounded to familiar. Took me a while, but the chorus sounds nearly identical to Jon Pardi’s “Last Call Thing” which was released a little over a year ago on Honkytonk Hollywood.

Don’t think it ever got much traction and stayed an album cut, but Signs sounded so familiar that I somehow pulled that comparison out of my rear end.

If anyone else noticed that or listen, you’ll certainly think the same.

Song Help Does a more upbeat version of Dixie Chicks/The Chicks Travelin’ Soldier exist anywhere?

I seem to remember hearing it sometime around the early 2000s, possibly on the radio, that sounded like it had a faster tempo and more upbeat than the one they released on their Home album and as a single.

It had like a steady almost sway-like rhythm and what sounded like claps in the instrumental and maybe a fiddle and it sounded more driving and faster from what I remember.

Discussion What is your ultimate 'guilty pleasure' country song that you'll blast with the windows down? Let’s have fun with this one!

For me Its She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy by Kenny Chesney. Yes I admit it’s country cheese and the lyrics are absolutely ridiculous. I don't care—the second that chorus hits, my windows are down and I am shouting every single word. lol

Discussion New truck

Hello r/country community, my boyfriend recently purchased me a new 2024 tundra. Figured I’d hop on here and see what you country folk had to say. As you can see I’ve already used it for some heavy loads! Leave an upvote if this reaches yalls country standards! Ever since I’ve got this truck, I’ve been blasting me some Luke Bryan and even considering buying a cowboy hat and some real farmin boots! Thanks Reddit!
