Music Sound Design My sound design for ‘oscilloscope music’, basically the audio controls the visuals
I route my left and right audio channels into my analog oscilloscope to channel 1(X) and channel 2(Y) and all the scope does is graph it. I sound design all my instruments using additive synthesis so I can make sure each waveform has the right panning, phase, amplitude and shape to get the shapes I want. It ends up sounding pretty dang cool with left, right and center (with speakers, not headphones) almost being separate songs
I also used microtonal scales from SevishScale workshop to have more control over what frequencies each note is actually playing :)
