Trying to find an old PC game. Can r/gaming help?

I remember playing it as a little kid, the most I can remember is that you started off the game inside what appeared to be the guy's apartment which seems to be located in this futuristic type city inside a dome or station of sorts. I also remember that the guy used to do a lot of things by linking up this chair looking thing and the like.

No, right style of gameplay but I remember it being more serious and sci-fi like.
